The shrines of the church include the icon of Kazan Mother of God, Our Lady of Upbringing and a relic with particles of 83 orthodox saints.
Kazan was mostly populated by Tatars, Mongol invaders of Russia and Europe, who were Muslim. Legend has it that one night before a battle, the tsar heard the chiming of the bells of Moscow,...
In 1931, the Resurrection Gate was demolished, together with almost the entire Kitai-gorod Wall, as part of the urban street widening project to allow for the military parades of the Soviet.

Very interesting museum with many artifacts, paintings and documents from the 1812 War against Napoleon. The museum is chronologically organized with good illumination and glassed displays. One of the best historical museums in Moscow.
Monastery of the Epiphany is a small church at the historic Kitay-gorod area of Moscow. The facade is typically Russian with the eye-catching combination of pink wall and golden dome. It is at a quiet side street near Kremlin and the Red Square.
Food and service of the restaurant is very good. Only one menu had a large delay before it was served. The waiters speak English and they have English menu cards. The steaks are of very good quality and they were cooked like we have ordered it. So, we’ll done!

Super coffee and tea shop that also offers dinners with good wine. We went for morning coffee and afternoon tea that also features a live pianist. The pastry’s are delicious and service as you would expect from a five star establishment. Not cheap but a great place to be seen and pass the time of day.

We were greeted at the entrance and shown...
The St Regis is a very comfortable hotel. The location is wonderful. You can easily walk to many of the main attractions e.g. Bolshoi Theatre, Red Square etc. The staff are wonderful. Everyone is very helpful and attentive. There is a 24 hour butler service available so I was able to have my outfit pressed to attend the opera at...
