Years ago, before the skyscrapers, before the 12-lane highway, there was only Jumeirah. In fact, when the UAE was formed, its rulers signed the agreement in Union House, at the very start of Jumeirah Beach Road. Often called “The Beverly Hills” of Dubai, a drive down Beach Road reveals one enormous, lavish villa after another. Originally residential-only neighborhoods, they are now also home to an array of cafes, smart boutiques, and art galleries. Home to one of Dubai’s few public beaches, this recently renovated area includes a new boardwalk, running and walking track, with changing facilities and cafes along the way. Another landmark, Jumeirah Mosque, is the only mosque in Dubai that can be entered by non-Muslims. As part of the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, the mosque hosts regular tours and talks about Islam, as part of an “Open Doors, Open Minds” program. A wonderful way to understand more about the UAE and Islam.

I spent a few of my first weekends nights at Pier 7 after feeling so welcomed by the management and bar staff. Also had the pleasure of meeting many locals and others from various countries around the region and further afield.
Thank you to Lora for making my birthday a night to remember on the 7th Feb after kindly gifting...
At this time of panic beaches are the most friendly place to be. Kite beach has free access and activities galore. Flying kites, kite surfing, beach volleyball, beach footbal, music, dance stage. The sea gulls magical levitation, sun set. The best place to be now and finally the weather..awsomeness.
The mosque tour, hosted by the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, was a perfect introduction to Arabic culture and Islam. It was inexpensive, aimed at non-Muslims and we never felt as though it was a sermon or a hard-sell. The guide spoke perfect English and was happy to answer any questions. This is a great opportunity to ask all...

We had a great and relaxing stay at Four Seasons Dubai. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating.
We were very happy with communications we could could have with staff via the messaging app. In addition to this (small but certainly deserves a mention) we had forgotten to bring our large toothpaste and had been using the small packet from...

I’ve been to Dubai many times before with friends and families, for business and holidays. I have never stayed at ‘Dubai Marine’ but as a resident from other hotels in Jumeirah area, I used to go pass it and never thought it was flats!😳 I even used to come clubbing here with friends but never noticed these ‘villa-flats’. The private...
