In Besiktas, skyscrapers compete with palaces for space in an upscale vista replete with hilly green parkland filling in the margins. Step into this rather wealthy neighborhood and discover a rich mix of opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s waterways are to its rich history, there's the frenetic Besiktas ferry terminal or the city’s most vibrant fish market to explore. For a timeout of metropolitan proportions, head to the bucolic Yildiz Park or the chic Bosphorus-side fishing village of Ortakoy. Attractions such as the grandiose Dolmabahce Palace and a bevy of other stately residences await admiration. To be sure, this large and not overly touristy swath of Istanbul yields plenty of pleasure for all.
This is a park mostly used by the locals. It is very beautiful and peaceful. If you want to run away from the noises of the city it is the right place to go. There are several restaurants and cafe houses.
I had such an amzing time to explore the museum. The musem is quite unique and colossal, If you are curious about the history of Turkish Imperial History and Navy achievement, the museum is illustrates Ottoman's maritime history extremely well. There are several interesting full size models and the original kaiques of the Imperial are quite opulent, impressive and extraordinary art work....
Also known as Ortakoy mosque, this was my favourite of my entire visit. I walked in and instantly you are hit with a sense of peace within the atmosphere. The mosque is not huge but it is built with huge windows and right on the Bosphorus. The huge windows let in so much light and I sat there for quite...
Went to Sans again after a long time that we haven't been in Istanbul. I was very happy and satisfied to find the same calm atmosphere, nice ambience and great food. Waiters were still very professional and friendly, recommendation of wine was great and the main course which was Cafe de Paris was almost original in France.
All and all,...
We had the table in the photo and thoroughly enjoyed the view of the Bosphorus and the city skyline behind it. I was greeted by name and seated immediately. The table ware was gorgeous. The food was delicious. We had the best stuffed grape leaves of our trip, the traditional lamb cooked in the clay pots was savory, and my...
Famous steak house next to the name of his creator-owner. Popular place even for tourist as it works as an attraction! The plus is that stay open till late. The quality of food is good enough and the meat selection is good eenough to satisfy everyone. The meat will come exactly as you wanted and the service is very elegant...
I loved everything about this restaurant; the atmosphere and the food, both were excellent.
As you walk into Sunset Grill, you are greeted by one of the most amazing views of the Bosporus and Istanbul. It's perched on a hill overlooking the city, and at sunset time it's glorious.
The restaurant is quite expensive, so great for special occasions. I...
Outstanding service, location, bed, room, breakfast, and spa. Everything was just perfect. Concierge staff were going beyond their way to assist the guests. Staff were all friendly. Such a baby friendly hotel!
Great location, Marvelous building, supreme rooms, wonderful view of Bosphorus and impeccable hospitality with very nice and attentive staff. Try any of signature treatments, I recommend "Tropical Magnolia"
I stayed at Ciragan Kempinski June 25-29, 2017. The check in was easy and very fast. Room with balcony and Bosphorus view was superb. The bathroom nice size but with a horrible bath-tub. It is very high and difficult to get in and out. The shower head is so low so I hit my head every single time when took...

Fabulous location and facilities, including hi-tech in-room entertainment and appliances, friendly and helpful staff, excellent food (breakfast experience is amazing). One comment though: a late check-in (for one of the two rooms we have booked) - assuming that the check-in time is 2 pm, the room was not ready until 2:30-3 pm
