With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
Very beautiful palace, architecture is just amazing.restoration is in progress in many parts of the palace.
I read reviews about wait time to get in,honestly from the experience i had, it was just 10 minutes wait to get in and it was only 40TL. It is opppsite the blue mosque so can be done together.
The outside is astonishing and the inside is even better! Even if you aren't Muslim, it's a great place to see and enter. Be sure to be wearing pants and not exposing your shoulders. Even if you forget, you're able to get the appropriate attire (for free) and you just return it once you're out.
Another palace to see.it is beautiful all decorated with beautiful turkish tiles. the most beautiful part is the view from the cafe the view is just breathtaking.the view of bosphorous sea from the topkapi palace is just serene.
The Cistern is definitely a must-see in Istanbul. Located under the city, it is an amazing work of architecture and how it used to hold so much water for the city. The columns make you wonder how they got there back in the day.
We were looking for el amed restaurant, and accidentaly seated here. Fish was amazing, tavuk sis also very delicios. Choban salad is a must try here. At the end they served us with turkish tea and baklava for free, nice staff, good prices, mid price ranged, it worths. Recommend.
