Tiger-flanked archways on Dixon Street mark the entrance to the “little Asia” of Sydney. A walk through Chinatown is a feast for the senses where aromas, tastes, sounds and visions of dancing tigers transport you to a different world. Chinatown visitors can expect a melting pot of Asian food at the neighborhood's specialty delis and groceries. From yum cha to handmade noodles, BBQ ducks hanging in the window to Asian sweets and bakeries, there is something for all tastes. Paddy’s Markets is the largest flea market in Sydney where you can find souvenirs, clothing, gifts and fruit and vegetables at unbeatable prices. At night, Chinatown comes alive with entertainment including theater, nightclubs and bars that are open until the early morning.
Arriving in Sydney around midday, checking into hotel I decided to visit the Chinese Gardens to fill in time on a pleasant winter's day.
It was a very enjoyable visit,my wife and I enjoying the layout the gardens and waterfalls together with the the information provided throughout. Well done Sydney and your Chinese community.
Yes. It is very modern looking on the outside and also rather snazzy inside as well. Yet, when you are in it, you can feel the warmth of the church, a welcoming feel of Christ and his mother Mary.
Come in and light a candle for yourself. It’s very edifying and inviting.
Joined in the Saturday vigil mass and it...
While walking we found the Central Baptist Church. It was huge! The entrance was perfect for kings and queens. Very attractive.
Some kids were enjoying looking at the Christmas tree. After all it was the beginning of January.
I was impressed.
The church was dark brown with large windows. Cool.
Worthwhile to see!
Went there for a graduation ceremony. Sweating before and after whilst just standing and talking - not good enough for this venue. Management needs to adjust the set points to allow for the outside temperature and number of guests expected. A pity as the venue design was great.
"A great introduction to the wildlife in the forest both during the day and night"
reviewed July 14, 2018 by BNK40
We took the all day wildlife tour. It was great and our guide Zoe was wonderful. We saw a lot of wildlife from the coach and walking through the forests. Emu, 18 wombats, a Bird of paradise, lots of kangaroos and wallabies. We saw several species of possum during the night walking tour. The lunch and dinner that were included...
Great restaurant to visit and another late night feed that is open at really good times. Amazing curry options for each person and a variety of different foods. The window that sees into the kitchen is always great to watch to make fresh food! The wait can sometimes be a while and they don't take reservations, but it's worth the...
The servings look small, but are filling.
I had the salted caramel, and it was smooth and creamy, but did lack the lumps of salted caramel you usually expect. But hey, the magic of this is great.
The Dixon St Food Court is the place in Sydney to get authentic Asian food. Modelled on the Singapore, Malaysian and Thai food courts you get to choose from 10 or more outlets closely jammed together. Seating and utensils are communal. There is always a crowd which speaks to its outstanding food. The prices are very reasonable.
My daughter put me on to this great little hotel. Great location near Paddy's market, short walk to Central and main attractions. Rooms are smaller than standard however everything is there that you need for a short stay. Very clean and bright. Great check in with friendly helpful staff and great price. Couldn't ask for much more. Will definitely stay...
I stay here regularly as it's in a good spot. The hotel does feel a little weathered and a bit old, but for a good price it's great. I love the bathrooms as they are like apartments. Lots of space and a little kitchen as well.
A friend and I stayed for 5 days...first day we were selected as guests of the day and treated with a fruit plate and waters! Yippee! Everyone we encountered was kind but Kevin at the front desk always had us laughing and engaged. We only ate in the restaurant 1 time...if was fine. Housekeeping was very good and we liked...
"Lock Your Luggage, My Make Up Was Stolen! - Convenient Location & Clean Room"
reviewed 2 weeks ago by PrincessNeverland
We stayed in 6pax Family Room for 2 nights and everything was wonderful, except that my limited edition Shu Uemura blusher went missing from my make up pouch, which I left on the table. Gentle reminder: Please keep your valuable belongings in luggage and have it locked before leaving the room in the morning to avoid unfortunate incident like mine....
Nice building that is easy to access, the staff are lovely; helpful, pleasant and are happy to assist. The room was clean and had everything in it that you'd expect and require. Room service was of high quality and within a reasonable time delivery.
