This rather quiet neighborhood revolves around a postcard-like park with a dramatic fountain in its center and is definitely one of Stockholm’s showcase neighborhoods. Mariatorget, a central residential area, is the best Stockholm has to offer when it comes to juxtaposing architectural masterpieces with sophisticated art galleries, coffee shops and bars. Stockholmers love to spend their weekends in the park or one of the nearby coffee shops, so come to Mariatorget to meet the locals. The northern part of Mariatorget boasts historic buildings, beautiful cobblestone streets, and one of Stockholm’s best observation decks, Monteliusvägen, from where you can see an amazing view of the city hall and Stockholm’s old town.
It was our first time coming to Monteliusvagen and we did it because of the many positive reviews we've got about it. We were not dissapointed! Even better - we've found this more peaceful than Fjallgatan and with a better view over the city.
Mariatorget is a lovely city park and square in the Södermalm district.
The original name from the end of the 1760s was Adolf Fredriks square. In 1959, it was renamed as Mariatorget according to the nearby Maria Magdalena church.
The central fountain is called 'Thor's fishing'. It depicts the Viking God Thor.
The area surrounding the park offers many shops,...
This unique conference and banquet facility dates back to the 17th century.
The house was built in the 1670s for the Dutch-born Swedish military officer Thomas van der Noot.
The palace houses a popular lunch restaurant which is open weekdays from 11:00 to 14:00.
Ivar Lo-Johansson (1901-1990) was a Swedish writer of the proletarian school. The Ivar Lo Society preserves his apartment in Stockholm as a museum at Bastugatan 21. You can be guest by booking a guided tour. It is worth the effort.

I first visited this restaurant on a Sunday, and they were closed so I had to return on a weekday. It was definitely worth coming back! The falafels are delicious; you can get them on traditional pita bread or as a wrap. You can eat in or sit in the outdoor area--a fantastic place for lunch.
Ate here last evening and was very pleased with the visit. Nice decor, cozy feeling, not too loud and, of course, good food. Service by the staff was also very good. Giving it five stars since half stars are not an option.
We enjoyed the fresh pasta, a very good wine from piemont and a perfect tiramisu. This restaurant is small and cozy with nice candlelights and a friendly stuff. One evening later we came back and the second time in the restaurant nostrano was perfect too. Thanks a lot :)
We enjoyed our visit to Tabbouli when visiting our daughter. The ambiance is charming, and the food was really good. They have both indoor and outdoor seating options, although outdoors is not a great idea during winter season! Even though this is a Lebanese restaurant, however this branch does NOT serve halal food. Still, a great experience.
The hotel is walkable from the good party areas of Stockholm. It also has a bar on the ground floor which keeps this place lively. The rooms are smaller and is not really value for money but I guess most places in Stockholm are the same. Everything is based on movies and a plus is the music and movie dvds...
"Decent. Very nice staff. Very nice localization."

Very good localization (near the center, just next to the metro station), very clean, and cosy. But not exceptional. Small things (like a bottle of water) are missing. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
it was the second time in this hotel and also after 2 years my idea doesn't change: it is a good solutions for a short stay, very cleaned rooms, very kind staff. Good and vaious breakfast, also with fresh cheese, fruits, bread, ... and everything you need.
The rooms are quite small but considering location, rate, and conditions i value...
Loved it, if you prefer comfort and privacy, this is not your place to be. But i liked it a lot. Nice and different, beautiful views. It’s walking distance to the old town. Thanx a lot. We had a great time.
