San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.

"Food and atmosphere"

Many choices of italian food, at stalls and restaurants.
The prices are a bit higher than average but it is perfect to stroll and eat there during a very hot or cold day.
You can try for free different kinds of cheese and salami.
We climbed this after buying a three way ticket for the museum, cathedral and bell tower.
As it was we upgraded to a tour of the dome but this self climb was done the day after. Most of the tickets last about 2/3 days but check. The climb can be done in 4 stages and at the end I did...

Amazing. Tip: no need to buy a ticket in advance. The line was very short (surprisingly) and you get in right away. Also, don’t get the audio guide; it provided basic info and was dissapointing. 6 euros wasted.
Everyone wants to see the steps, and they are good, but the desks and ceiling in the library itself are outstanding. All were designed by Michelangelo.
A temporary exhibit of writings by women, going back to medieval times, was open while we visited. Some beautiful manuscripts illustrated by nuns were included.
It is really interesting to visit the Last Suppers in Florence and Andrea del Castagno's well preserved fresco in the former refectory of Sant' Apollonia is a favorite. It is even more amazing that this gem was only known to the nuns up until the 19th century. It is a calm space with chairs set up for viewing and few...
This sandwich shop is absolutely amazing. With fresh bread and ingredients, they make the sandwiches to order in front of you and are incredibly helpful in suggesting good combinations. They also brew their own gorgeous red wine. It is not only lovely here but astonishingly cheap; €6.50 for the best sandwich I have ever had and a cup of delicious...
They have a great selection of gelato's. This is also a PERFECT place to have gelato if you are vegan or can't have milk. The VEGAN Chocolate GELATO is amazing. !!! The store is clean ( clean bathrooms also) & the (girl) server was very sweet and helpful.
I found this place on Trip Advisor and after reading the reviews decided to book up for lunch. When I arrived I was a little unsure about the place as it is fairly unassuming from the outside.
However, after going inside I was very pleasantly surprised. The place is actually a converted chapel and has a very nice feel to...

"Not a tourist trap"

This place has a great sense of service and it is amazing to see how they manage to easily put a smile on everyone's face.
But this place is not a tourist trap, the food is excellent and prices are good for Florence.
Booked in advance with the Fork. Excellent interior. Service throughout was excellent. Staff with very good English. Food excellent. Glass of prosecco on arrival. Limoncello on leaving. Shared a platter of meat and cheese to start with along with some crostini. Very nice. Excellent pasta dish with prawns and zucchini flowers. The pasta was one of the best i've tasted...
Such a great and ideal hotel in the best location in Florence. We had the best stay, using the spa and the pool. Staff so so friendly and the rooms were fresh, big and very comfy. Cant wait to come back and stay again..so a big THANK YOU and GRAZIE to the staff.
Great spot , walking distance to the most sought after locations. Staff was very friendly and very helpful special thanks to Yanni who went out of his way to make sure we were looked after and went out of his way to help us with our transfers, also Samuel at the bar who was also very friendly and did everything...
From start to finish this was a great place to stay in Florence. It isn’t in the centre but is easily accessed on foot in around 7-10 minutes. The staff are helpful and everything runs like clockwork, breakfast was a little busy but that is what happens when everyone wants a lie in on a Sunday morning!
The city is...
We had an amazing time at the Glance Hotel. The hotel is only a short walk away from the central market and duomo and is easy to get to from the train station. Their rooftop pool and bar were the perfect afternoon reprieve from the 90+ degree temperatures of our daily adventures. Not only was the staff friendly, they provided...

Not too sure where to start with this absolutely amazing hotel.. from the moment we arrived the staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. In particular Giovanni deserves a special mention for making this stay extra special.
