"Plaza de Espana under Restoration"
reviewed January 21, 2020 by Vladimiramirela
The famous Cervantes monument was partly covered by a green tarpaulin, protected from the works going on in the plaza surrounding it. We could still appreciate its importance and grandeur, however, I hope the modernization of the place will be completed soon.
As other reviewers have mentioned, this museum is really oriented toward the average tourist mainly because much of the information, actually the vast majority of it is in Spanish only. I did wonder if there was an audio guide for non speakings, but it was never offered to me at reception. The staff did give me a sheet with a...
Costing just €3, a trip up in the glass elevator to the top of this tower is a must do in Madrid. Adjacent to the American museum and Moncloa Station its easy to reach.
I wasn't on the viewing deck for more that 10 minutes but it was long enough to get views of the city and surrounding area. Definitely...
Unfortunatelly, when we visited, most of the beautiful part of this famous square was under modernization, closed off. What we could see was the modern expansion all around, marking the old city limit and the beginning of contemporary Madrid.
Stopped here because it was near our hotel and these were the most delicious empanadas I've ever had. We had the beef, pork, and chorizo, but I recommend any of them. Staff was very friendly and spoke english. Very helpful!
Outstanding all round. Very clever, imaginative food, surprises in every course, very well explained by polite and helpful staff. Not rushed and also drinks served as we requested by them to pair to match the food -brilliant. Chef very informative. We would definitely return next time in Madrid, make the effort and find it you won’t regret it.
Down a quite street in Madrid lies a gem of an Italian restaurant.
A quaint place of that, the service was quick efficient and with a smile.
The pizza was filling without being too sickly, a big size at that. The spaghetti meatballs were filling and wholesome, portion sizes once again hearty but not over endearing.
Now on to the...
We fancied a city break to break the winter blues. We a Barceló fans so the choice was easy and the hotel did not disappoint. Sonia greeted us upon arrival and was charmingly helpful throughout our stay. But all the staff were cheerful helpful and charming. The concierge suggested some very good restaurants. We had a lovely room with a...
Great location on a quiet street a couple of blocks from Palacio de Liria and Plaza España Metro station. Excellent front desk staff and impeccable daily housekeeping. service. We stayed in a studio with a kitchenette quite suitable for two. Modern, large bathroom and all amenities as advertised: good AC/heat, great WiFi, safe, comfortable bed, etc. Very good value. I...

Mercure Madrid Plaza de Espana Hotel is a nice four-star hotel situated in the heart of Madrid close to Plaza Mayor and other attractions (e.g. Royal palace, Grand Via, etc.) and about 17 Km (10.5 miles) from Madrid Barajas Alfonso Suarez International Airport (with good transport connections by Bus and Metro-Nr.10, Stop Plaza de Espana).
The Mercure Madrid Plaza de...
I was supposed to stay just one night but liked it so much that I booked for a couple more. Very agreeable place, great service! Looking forwards to come back. Next time I’m in Barcelona you know where to find me! ;)
We had a pleasant stay at Muralto Aparto Suites. The rooms were large enough with a separate bedroom but the overall ambience is just ok. I can't say anything bad but I can't say it provides any wow factor to make you happy. The rooms are ok but basic.
Their breakfast service is very good, and I like their late...
