Casa Del Parroco is a nice looking 19th century, baroque style building. It is connected to the San Jose church which is next door to it. At the time of our visit the church was all covered up, probably renovations, and the Rectory was closed and we could not go inside. However it does look like a very lovely building....
I was staying near this church which served as a landmark to when I was almost back to base. One morning I saw people going in, so I ventured in to look (respectfully).
I'm not Catholic, but I went in and saw lots of people praying and the priest in silence for some reason (not familiar with catholic services).
A few days ago, we went to the Retiro Park and tried to hire bikes, but could not find them. Today, we were determined to find the rental place.
We found DiverBikes, which helped us have a good experience driving around the Retiro. To get to this place, as soon as you exit the station inside the park, turn left...

I am not a tourist, I do not live around here, but I liked it.
A very small, little, intimate, cozy place; downstairs room for maybe 8 people on two tables, while at the ground floor there are 4 small tables with stools and a counter.
Little choice of dishes but original and different from ordinary.

The restaurant is good, staff is kind and the meat is very nice cocked and seasoned.
the only low point is the buffet which was quite basic, still, nicely cocked

This was recommended by our hotel for some tapas on our recent visit. It's a great little spot, we were the only tourists when we ate here. I had the best spanish omelette (with onion & shrimp) I've ever had. Croquettes were also very good. Even at 7:30 on a Friday it was a full house.
