West Point Grey is one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods, especially known for its easygoing and admired beachfronts. Locals crowd the Spanish Banks and Jericho Beach, especially in the summer, where a sprawling view of the English Bay awaits. The central village is an oasis of sovereign shops, many of them in local operation for years. The neighbourhood has a more personal feeling to it, and can be a wonderful and much-needed break from the bustle of big-city life, being a little haven of peace and quiet with an almost village temperament in the heart of Vancouver.
Sit on/beside a log and read a book, have a picnic. Dinner/evening will provide an amazing view of the sunset. Bike to this spot on the nearby path, wade in the water to cool off. Enjoy the view of the north shore and downtown.
Jericho park and beach is one of the most beautiful parks in Vancouver.
You have the ocean and the walking trails in the back that are natural and full of birds. You could easily spend an afternoon here walking, biking, sitting on the beach or on a park bench listening to the birds or watching the bunnies.
What a lovely beach with beautiful views. The beach is broad and very long, there is plenty of room for lots of people but I was one of just a handful there on a weekday morning.
I look forward to returning with my family and taking a long walk in the beach.
I've wanted to visit for a while and finally made it on June 16, 2018! It was a gorgeous hot day, and my husband and I really enjoyed our visit. We were very surprised that the building held thousands of artifacts, and some were plucked from the 1886 fire which totally destroyed the city of Vancouver. I especially loved the...
We went and saw the production of Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol. The theatre is situated near the entrance of Jericho Park. The venue is small with a cosy lobby. The actual theatre space is excellent. You can purchase drinks at the bar. The seats were comfortable for the two hour show.
The show we saw was wonderful. A great story...
My wife had the chicken sandwich and chicken soup. She thought it was tasty and good. I had the lentil soup of the day and a Caesar salad. Both were tasty and fresh. Service was friendly, helpful, and pleasant.
The place for happy food, coffee is also good but the cinnamon buns will brighten anyones day...some of the staff seem like they are having a bad day (on one occasion) but been there many, many times and will continue.
This restaurant seamlessly blends great service, food and ambiance. Very welcoming and conversational staff. Varied menu full of delicious little treats, and a high energy room with high turnover, but without feeling in anyway rushed. FYI, all the skewers, the steak were great. The assorted sashimi was beyond. But, either have er a reservation, or go early or on a...
We had several courses here the other night....salmon, albacore, scallops, blue fin, duck...each was delicious, fresh and served with expertise. The flavours are subtle and work together. Small plates. Great with a bit of saki and dri dark Ahi beer. Came away feeling satisfied and nourished without feeling full. Wonderful atmosphere and friendly, efficient, knowledgeable wait staff.
