It has to be seen. Worth every penny. Great walls of glass make it seem bright even on a rainy day. The trail to the left of the entrance takes you around the building to a spectacular traditional village complete with totem poles and beach.
Loving this new glass building on the UBC campus. Drawn into the entrance by Big Blue, the blue whale skeleton from PEI. This building really showcases the skeleton!
Unfortunately we were unable to view the lower floors due to rental of the space for a private event. Will return for further inspection.
I visited Doughgirls last week while my husband was having knee surgery at UBC hospital. I was looking for comfort food so I selected the soup and cinnamon bun. The soup was savoury and the cinnamon bun was so soft and sweet and the cheese icing was cheesy and smooth. Oh YES, the most delightful lunch that I have ever...
Yummy baked goods and the perfect cup of coffee. This coffee shop is right by the Walter Gage residence, where we stayed. So not only is it convenient to go here, but delicious as well! Thanks Great Dane!
Out at UBC for a long walk. Planned to eat here because I have learned to appreciate the consistency of this chain. This is a little hard to find, as it is hidden in the Forestry Building. Very busy when I got there, a good sign the locals like it. Fast friendly service, lunch for $10.
We have been to both the Mahoney and Sean restaurants in Vancouver and for the most part enjoyed them noting that they are crowded and loud but the food and especially the hors d’oeuvres and cocktails are very good .
We were looking for a place to lunch after visiting the Museum, we stopped at the Loafe Café and it had all that we wanted: tasty and healthy food.
We had the Mushroom Soup and a sandwich, both with side salads.
There are some unusual iced teas to try it too
We had a great stay at the Ponderosa Suites in Vancouver. These rooms are student dorms during the school year, but offered as hotel rooms during the summer. Our room itself was small, but it had a good layout that made it function larger than it was. It had a decent kitchen area, including a full-size refrigerator. The bed was...
We enjoyed our stay at beautiful UBC. In spite of construction nearby our suite was quiet and overlooked a peaceful treed courtyard. Staff were helpful and friendly. This is a little oasis away from the hustle and bustle if you have business at UBC.
My daughter and I have stayed in these suites before her move in date to the dorms and while she was touring colleges. Mostly the rooms have been comfortable and very convenient. This last time my unit — which comes equipped with a complete kitchen — reeked of cooking odors. Other visits did not have this problem and I this...
