I had not previously heard of this site before visiting Mexico City with Go Ahead Tours. They apparently get more visitors than the Vatican! It was so incredible to see the old and new Basilicas side by side on the huge grounds. Well worth the visit.

"Enchanting Casa "
reviewed April 29, 2017 by levib751
We visited Casa Fuerte without knowing much about Emilio Fernandez and it was a nice diversion on for a Saturday morning. The Casa opens at 12 and entry is 70 pesos each. You can have a guided tour but we opted to wander the house ourselves. It is a large Casa made from volcanic rock and an intriguing layout with...

"Come out of curiosity stay for the art."
reviewed January 21, 2020 by sfzak
Recently opened to the public so it is good chance to see the official homes of the Mexican presidents.
Many of the rooms are unfurnished, which gives the place a barely staged "open house". The art is wonderful and the special exhibits are enough of a reason to go.
Recently, I was with a co-worker in the Vallejo section of Mexico City. We had never gone out to eat in this area. So, I checked TripAdvistor and found Monte Cristo only 2 miles from our site. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The location is good. Because the lovely interior garden is surrounded by a villa-like structure and a large...
La Casa de Toño is one of my and my boyfriend’s favourite restaurants, we love the pozole and basically everything on the menu. However this experience was something else. It was certainly not the first time we came ti this branch and we knew what to expect, crowds, turn taking and a bit of waiting, however, turns out Luis Cesar,...
Went to this taco place a few weeks ago, I suggest ordering the "costillas" and "pastor". Cool atmosphere and good prices. The salsas come in a variety of spicyness. The only thing that wasn't all that great and that's why I'm not giving it 5 stars is the service. They were not very helpful. Other than that, it was a...
We usually order take out since both locations Don Panchito (restaurant) and El Pollo (Market) are super crowded on the weekends and wait time (even at the bar) are over an hr.
This is a no-frills, unassuming location where the focus is on the quality of the food.
I always get a "vuelve a la vida" cocktail - large. it...
"My first Pilgrimage to Our Lady of Guadalupe on her Feast Day in 2019"
reviewed December 16, 2019 by AKMLiu
During our pilgrimage, we stayed in this lovely hotel (all 9 of us) and the minute we set foot into the hotel, we were warmly welcomed by Celia Gonzalez at the front desk. We got to our room and were pleasantly surprised that it was very spacious and came with a King Sized bed! Everything was very clean and well...
the hotel was a nice surprise for me as I did not expect too much, but it was better than expected - first the rooms were big and very clean, the staff was very helpful and the location close to the Norte bus terimal was really great, especially if you want to catch a bus in the morning
I have stayed at a number of City Expresses and was very disappointed in this one. It has a terrible smell from sewer gas throughout the hotel, not just in one area. I cancelled my second night stay after I woke up with a headache on the first night.
Its a hotel well located, however it should improve the room conditions, there were a lot of insects coming from the roof, and the beds were not really clean, the price is fair for the quality of the hotel.
Negatives - No air conditioning, no heat, musty odor, stained bedding, translucent windows, paper thin walls, reception in garage, dining room in garage, maze-like layout.
Positives - Large rooms, free porn.
