A lot of tourists flock in this old street to fly lanterns. The rail track is sometimes congested which could be dangerous especially when a train is approaching. Although there are guards who give reminders, some tourists do not follow instructions right away. There should be more warning signs and safety measures.

This area is worth the visit. The waterfall is nice but not as big nor pretty as some of the other waterfalls I've seen around. However, that being said it's definitely worth the visit because Shifen old street is a short distance away and the walk to get to the waterfall is peaceful also.
On the way from Shifen station to Shifen waterfall, you pass by this waterfall. I mistakenly thought it was Shifen waterfall, but it wasn’t. However, it is still beautiful and worth taking a picture. It is nice to hike in this area.
Just when you thought you had eaten BBQ chicken before, here comes a new creation of stuffing that with rice inside. Good news is that the bone has been removed so you can literally eat the whole wing.
A nice little café serving Taiwanese drinks and snacks. A good place to take a rest with tasty smoothies after visiting the Shifen Old street. The staff are so friendly and warm that make you feel like having tea at home. Don't forget to take a look at the beautiful decorations while you are there.
Booked this hotel with the hope of getting a great view of the Pingxi Lantern festival on the 15th day of the Lunar New Year.
