Sue thanks so much for your support - without exception we have found yourself and the people of Welcombe (and environs) to be welcoming and exceptionally supportive of both ourselves and the new direction we are taking the Smithy in. As you know small restaurants dealing with large crowds often have a wait for food. Most people understand and go with the flow as long as they are communicated with - we ensure now that our awesome kitchen team talk to bar staff who pass on the message to customers as they order once a delay in usual waiting time is likely. Life at the Smithy is great and we are enjoying overwhelmingly positive feedback from our customers. The odd mistake here and there is to be expected in any business (and even benefitted from as long as a lesson is learned) to be honest there haven’t been many and service is generally smooth under this old thatch! We think the Smithy is a very special place and feel honoured to be part of a great community - we will work hard to see the pub grow from strength to strength. Best wishes, Murrough
