Hello and I understand you are first timers to Bali so sometimes it can be all a bit daunting and a little to much. Firstly we have never stated anywhere that we are in Central Seminyak, but we are in Seminyak and we are certainly not a seedy area, we are very close to Cocoon, Double Six Hotel, Gado Gado, a very popular swimming beach and the list goes on but this is just a normal fun Bali area with great shopping and we certainly would not call it seedy. Where you went to stay you were also not in Central Seminyak, it was right on the edge as we are. You do not have the choice of two Alley ways as an entrance we only have one main one and we give people that stay here a key to get to the beach quicker, so the second entrance exit is for guests only. Something we have done to make it easy for our guests. Most Villas are down these alleyways in Bali and I am sure you would have come across that as you got to know Bali. You stated aggressive dogs, you told us WILD dogs, these are not aggressive or wild they belong to the local Balinese family in the small street that comes into our place and they have been there for years and not once have any of them attacked or caused anyone harm. Bali is noted for its wondering dogs and I am sure you would have seen that even when you checked into the four star place you went to. You saw a bat and a rat another thing that is popular in Bali, the bats are harmless and come in at sun set but once again they have never harmed anyone and I am surprised you only saw one rat in Bali because they love the offerings that are left out after the locals have prayed. You stayed in a traditional Balinese Bungalow and yes they are older but they are well maintained and I can see nothing wrong with the upstairs toilet or the thatched roof bedroom. These are our cheaper accommodation and the place you went to stay cannot be compared with us in any way. The staff would never not escort you past the dogs, they would have rung the owner and asked for them to be locked away. I am sorry we were not suited to you as first timers to Bali and staying in a four star does probably suit some first timers better but we are still a great place to stay and we never got the chance to make you welcome and show you around. People love us and we care for our guests. Villa Coco Staff
