This hotel was one of ma bucket list location. Very nice location. Rooms are very nice and nicely located facing the magnificent Palatupana beach. Very nice infinity swimming pool facing the beach. Honestly, the hotel was built very nicely. And very convenient to do a Safari at

Dear Kasun I was of course most concerned to learn of the disappointing elements of your stay which fell below the high standards we strive to achieve. Please accept my sincere apologies for the shortfalls you experienced. I would like to reassure you that this is not indicative of our hotel standards. I have also shared your feedback with the relevant departments of the issues highlighted, and in our continuous effort to exceed guest expectations they will be taking corrective action. However your comments regarding our food and the service are quite surprising to hear as we have always received the highest praise from all our other reviewers. As we respect each guest’s personal opinion we thank you for expressing yours. I can assure you that in no way Laya management and leadership have become what you mentioned With regards to the overcharging you pointed out that for a room upgrade booking.com selling channel showed USD 13, it is true for the day that you extracted B/B rates, as traveling a veteran you may have experienced hotels practice dynamic pricing strategy during high peak and low peak seasons and dates as well, your stay was on weekends for that day although we were fully booked, we had an opportunity to offer a room upgrade as a result of one cancellation, the difference for upgrade is USD 40.If we had overcharged we make no hesitation to refund them with an apology. In the Ala-Carte list obviously show the menus and the corresponding prices so that guests can place their orders without fuss accordingly. On a positive note, I appreciate your praise of location and other nature made things ; rooms and design We wish you all the best in your future travels
