Dear Rick, Many thanks for your stay with us at Machweo. Our green place overlooking the Maasai planes and Mount Meru is known as a a birdwaching paradise. Glad you were able to see gorgeous birds like the African Paradise Flycatcher! Thanks also for your appreciation of our excellent staff. They are always happy to let you taste their delicous local lunch and demonstrate how to eat it. Glad you also enjoyed the sunset and fine dining experience at Machweo. Good news what concerns the noise. We have addressed this issue with the local community and have made important progress. Next to the reduced volume of the speakers of the mosque and church, our upgraded Machweo rooms offer now double glass windows and accoustic curtains (currently being produced with ISO 11654 "A" class sound absorption = extremely absorbing curtains) which will make you sleep through the night if you want to skip the cultural experience.
