Hubby and I just came back from our 2nd trip to Rio de Oro Last week. When we booked last October, we upgraded to an Oceanview suite (not royal service) and we're given bungalow/suite 3231. Fabulous location, fabulous view. We have now been spoiled and will book an Oceanview

Dear LaGitanaMexicana, We would like to thank you for posting a review on this site, as a result of your second trip to our resort. Your descriptions of your visit point by point makes it very useful and certainly attractive for other travelers who look for reference before taking the decision of going to a place to spend their holiday. Thank you for mentioning your room and the bedding, the beauty of our grounds, our unique and professional employees, our restaurants and the food you enjoyed. We appreciate your understanding of the challenges we get to be faced with in terms of getting supplies that are usually taken for granted in other parts of the world. As per your comments on the lagoon, we regret to inform you that this lagoon is a natural protected area that the hotel is not allowed to interfere with and as you could see, the rise of the water level did permit its access to the ocean, killing at the same time the fishes that enter in contact with salted waters. The odor of the pond is unfortunately due to its stagnant waters but does not receive any sewage discharge, contrary to what you could imagine. We sincerely regret not to be able to interfere with this situation rather than ensure the cleaning of the dead fishes entering the sea. We are sorry to learn that you were not recognized as a repeat customer but please when you plan to return, make sure to let us know about your status as our reservation system does not flag you automatically as a returning guest. It will be our great pleasure to welcome you back again when time comes for you to enjoy another great vacation on our beautiful island. Kindest regards, Jean-Marc Rousseau General Manager
