Dear milan_nozka, *stylish hotel with beautiful rooms and open showers, even nicer private pool villas ...sleepy small village* (although sleepy contradicts the negative comments below) Thanks. As for your negatives : Yes, we have hawkers. All hotels have hawkers except for one 5 star hotel in the north that owns the entire access to their beach. All beaches are public by law in Lombok. That being said, we do work with our hawkers (who are residents of the village) on what is appropriate selling techniques but, as the review above indicates, for some travelers it is not enough. (Some of our guests actually like interacting with the locals and have visited some of our hawkers in their homes and the local school). As for the early morning sound, yes, Indonesia is a Muslim country and there are mosques. And the first morning call to prayers is at 5:20 am as noted above. We can help by putting guests in downstairs rooms upon request (which are quieter because they dont have the grass roofs that the upstairs rooms have) and we have a pretty good relationship with the villagers who help with sound issues but there is only so much we can do. As there is only so much you can do in Europe if your hotel is near a church with bells. And as for schools. Yes, we have them in Lombok (smile) and one is located across the street from Qunci VIllas at the back of the hotel. There are occasions when the school has something going on out front in the schoolyard. And children make noise. Happy Travels!
