Response from Rakkh, Guest Relations Manager at Rakkh Resort, A Member Of Radisson Individuals Retreats
Responded Apr 21, 2018
Dear Mr. Vinayak, First of all, we would like to thank you for taking out your precious time to write your experience about Rakkh. From your write up and the discussion happened at site, it is clear that there is wide difference between your expectation and our product; what you were expecting was a luxury resort, where as we are an activity based experiential resort. I just wish that you should have read our website or called us up to know our product; all social media campaign clearly says we are an activity based resort. Now, let me clarify your point wise observation. You mentioned in review that your children arranged a cake for you, but the fact is yours was an online booking through "Cleartrip", and there was no request raised through the voucher we received through "Cleartrip" about special request of cake and flowers, nor we received any email or call from your children's end about special request. You wanted a cake at 8 pm when you checked in, please note that our location is in middle of forest and the nearest town is 15 km, I wish we were located in big city because in smaller places and rural areas by 8 pm the whole shops get closed and there is no way we could have provided that. The ideal situation would have been that you would have called us in advance and we would have made the arrangements well in advance.....please also note that as a common protocol, we always call our guests before check in, but in your case you had booked through an online travel agent and there was no information about your personal contacts to us. This you can check with your booking agent as we also want to talk to guests before hand so that such problems does not arise when guests check in to our resort. Your observation regarding the dress of Chef-- let us clarify that on your instance we called an Indian cook in middle of dinner preparation as our chef was not present at that moment--- now you will also agree that during food preparation the dress is bound to get dirty by oil stains and food stains--- there is no way we can avoid. If you have any solution to this basic problem--- II'm sure you can get that solution patented, and we would be the first client of yours. Please also note that hot water at night is provided to each and every guest along with the special salt, as dipping your leg in hot water with special salt, soothes your nerves and you have a sound sleep. This is a special thing which we do for all our guests as a part of local experience, and yes the staff didn't knocked on your door as it was D.N.D but you came while he was interacting with other room's guest. We agree with you that staff require more training and it is our constant endeavour to keep keep training as an ongoing process. Please also note that we feel great pride in claiming that 80 percent of our team members are from villages within 4 km radius and almost 90 percent are from Himachal Pradesh---- it was a very deliberate attempt to get raw unemployed youths and then train them to follow the company protocols and we can only assure you that your point is well taken and we will definitely try to push training further more. Your nest point was a tin roof which could blow off anytime--- I can only say that either you are ignorant or you are lying---please note that our concept of resort is connecting to nature, all our cottages are having insulated puff panel roofing, this roofing is done so that the guests can enjoy the sound of rain while sleeping, this is deliberately don as city life devoids such experience. Now let us clarify your perception of billing and cost; you had paid INR 13,900/- (all inclusive of taxes, commission, food, activities), now please deduct 38 percent as this includes the taxes and commission taken by your booking agent. Now lets assume that per person cost of food (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks) is INR 1250 per person, so for 2 person it is INR 2500. So practically you paid INR 6100 per day which includes unlimited mock-tails, juices and about 12 activities. Now, if you think INR 6100 is very high per night, then we are sorry we cant reduce any further. We would have avoided replying to you point-wise, but I'm sure this reply would be read by many people and let us clarify that we are an activity based experiential resort. Our resort will not be suitable in case people do not like outdoor activities, people who love room service as we do not provide room service, we push people to walk so if someone is looking for reasons not walk uphill he will be disappointed and also, someone who can't stay without T.V. or WiFi, he will again be disappointed as there is no T.V. in the whole resort, but yes if someone wants mountain biking, hiking, trekking, local himachali food and folk singing, wall climbing, pottery, weaving and wants to do the digital detox, then we are the right fit. Take care. Best Wishes Rakkh Team
