Dear Alasdair, we are pleased that you, like many others, found the apartment large, clean and well equipped. We are, however, sorry that you felt uneasy about swiping your credit card within the property. This has been standard practice for us for a couple of years now, and every other guest has found it helpful, as it enables us to speed them directly to their apartment upon arrival and avoiding to ask guest to come to our office to take payments. Then, once we have finished showing them the apartment and its amenities, we can take the payment there and then. Fast and smooth. You had arrived a couple of hours before check-in opens and 5 hours before your agreed arrival time(Between 6PM/7PM) without any prior warning.(You were informed twice by booking.com the check in times). My colleague had not yet started work and was in his casual clothes. In an effort to check you in at this time, and rather than taking time to change into suitable attire, or wait for a member of staff to become free, he rushed to greet you and show you to your apartment, so that you didn’t have to wait. Some of our apartments are above the fire station, which gives them a fantastic and unique view of the park and a location from which it is easy to walk to all that Cambridge has to offer. Indeed, they are some of the most centrally located apartments in Cambridge. Furthermore, the road is very quiet at night, and one of the least busy in central Cambridge during the day. The building also has excellent sound insulation. Additionally, the Fire Department even have control over the traffic lights to ensure that their way is clear before they leave the station. So, the Fire Department do not generally need to switch on their sirens. They are very responsible and aware that they operate in a residential area. It is unfortunate that you were rude and aggressive towards our colleague, he was very upset indeed.
