Dear Martin W, Thank you for writing about your visit to Cape Panwa Hotel, Phuket. We are naturally disappointed that we did not live up to your expectations. All our suites are sea-facing but there is also some beautiful greenery which we feel adds to the natural attraction of the location. Similarly we have resisted the temptation to ‘modernise’ the beach area as the sea, the sand and the coastal slope draped in coconut groves exude their own beauty. It is true that at low tide there is some coral exposed and for this reason we provide in every suite a tide table to help you plan your sea-bathing. For dedicated swimmers there this the main pool by the restaurant and the large infinity pool located on the beach. The addition of a service charge and government tax is common practice in Thailand but our prices are very much in line with similar properties in the area. Our secluded location is seen by many as one of our strengths but if guests are seeking a little more lively night-life, both Phuket Town and Patong Beach are easily accessible by taxi. Once more we sincerely regret any disappointments that you may have experienced and wish you both many happy holidays in the future. Cape and Kantary Hotels supports SOS Children’s Villages and the TSPCA. We do not serve foie gras, birds’ nest or shark’s fin and we stand firmly against the exploitation of Thai elephants for commerce or entertainment. Sincerely yours, Cape Panwa Hotel, Phuket Management
