Thank you for your review of Blackwattle Luxury Retreats. Our aim is to provide our guests with a positive, memorable and wonderful getaway at Blackwattle so we are sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay. Your feedback is important to us so I will take the time to address your concerns. Blackwattle is a privately owned rural property with a boutique vineyard and not a mainstream resort hotel. Our guests choose Blackwattle for the peace and privacy we offer and as an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The retreats are designed and positioned to provide privacy for guests in both cottages, hence the trees outside the bathroom and bedroom windows. These trees do not, however, impact on the beautiful mountain and surrounding vineyard views as shown in your lovely photos. Considering we have had unprecedented hot weather in the Hunter Valley this summer your photos show the landscape as being rather green. As we don’t have a dedicated reception desk and we like to greet our guests, we do ask for an estimated arrival time so we can be available to answer any questions and provide the key. This also gives us the opportunity to turn on the air conditioners/lights/music etc in the retreats prior to our guests arriving. My apologies if the air conditioning was not on in your retreat on the day, however, rest assured we do generally turn on one or both air cons in the cottage when the weather is very hot or very cold. As described on our website, the retreats are self contained so even though the closest supermarket is only 12 minutes drive away, most of our guests bring their own breakfast provisions, eat out or select one of our breakfast options when booking. Breakfast and bathrobes are included in our romance package. We are fortunate here at Blackwattle to have a lovely Italian restaurant across the road which also offers a takeaway option. It is within walking distance however we are more than happy to drop off and pick up our guests if we are available. We will certainly take on board your feedback regarding lack of hooks in the bathroom however we hope you enjoyed your complimentary bottle of wine, handmade soaps and bath salts. Our tariffs and inclusions are on par with similar accommodation in the Hunter Valley.
