A must do in Philly. When we went there was a modest queue (line) that took about 15 mins to get through to the front. Be warned! There was a lady there at the front who gave the impression of being an official. On questioning she freely admitted she was not and that any tips were voluntary, but there was certainly pressure to pay her for taking your photo. My advice, agree with the person in front of you to take each others photo and don’t pay the “official” guide

Yes, if you have seen the first of the now 8 Rocky films, you will know the scene where Sylvester Stallone runs up the stairs to the Museum of Modern Arts... and not far from there, a monument has been erected to the film character. If you don't particularly care about being pictured with the statue, you should just walk past the waiting crowd on the left, take your photo and leave smiling. It is probably best to walk from the city center towards the museum - if in doubt, it is quicker than looking for a paid parking space on site.

Visited the statue on 8th March and it was brilliant. We walked the steps and took loads of pictures. Well worth the visit if your in the locality. Highly recommend a tour guide as they know a lot of the in depth of these monuments that you usually wouldn't know.

First we climbed the steps (we did not run like Rocky did). His footprints are engraved in the concrete at the top. Great photos taken. We sat and watched others climbing and running up the steps. The statue is off to the side of the steps. The line moved quickly and we took more photos.

The statue is close Tim the base of the rear lower level entrance. Don’t have to pay for museum entrance. Shorter line because it was light rain. Fun to run up stairs after. Not hard.

Parking is availabe across the street from the front of the museum. You pay $16 with your phone but you need to pay as you are turning in. If you drive past the sign at the parking turn in you will have to walk back to it after parking. Just a minor inconvenience. I don’t know if the parking has a time limit. Rocky statue is next to the base of the steps, not on top of the steps.

Our recent US History tour took a brief stop at the front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Some of our group members took the run up the steps and made the iconic Rocky pose at the top for a picture, and all of us viewed the Rocky Statue in front of the museum. I'm not a big Rocky fan, but I'm sure this would be a must see stop for any fan of the “Rocky” movies.

We took the Hop On trolley to the Rocky Statue and Art Museum. There wasn't much of a line to wait to get your photo taken in front of the statue. Then you can climb the steps to the entrance. There was a tent out front for Antiques Roadshow when we went so it was awkward to get into the museum.

Really great photo op. There's a rocky trailer store next to the statue. It wasn't open when we were there, but the independence visitor center had rocky gear as well. If you walk up the steps there are foot print in the concrete of where rocky stood in the movie. Beautiful fountain and George Washington statue across the street

Great to see the underdog represented and feel the history of the famous movie. We went at 8:45am Tuesday and there were no crowds so we were able to get some great photos. Walking distance from the city center (about 30 mins) or 8 mins in a cab. Note: the museum and gift shop are shut Tuesday and Wednesdays.
