THE 10 CLOSEST Hotels to One World Observatory, New York City

Hotels near One World Observatory

There are a million things to experience in New York City, but there’s only one way to see them all at once. You can start by hopping a Sky Pod to the top of the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. There, 102 stories up, find yourself face-to-face with New York’s iconic skyline. Maybe you’ve seen views of the city before, but never quite like this. Walk the three sprawling levels of the Observatory and discover surprises along the way. Drop into the café and grab a bite to eat. Step onto the Sky Portal and stroll high above the crowded streets. Take an interactive guided tour of the city with the help of our Skyline Concierges, available to answer any questions you might have about New York’s long and storied history. And don’t leave without stopping by the One Mix bar for a glass of celebratory prosecco and one last look toward the horizon. See for yourself why One World Observatory is truly An Experience Above.

Mirror mirror on the wall — and everywhere else
This was such a sensory experience. Mirrors on walls, pillars, floor ceiling, EVERYWHERE! People leaning against everything vertical and laughing. I took a dozen pictures of couples trying to take a “selfie” cause they were so enamored with the moment.

    Beautiful Views
We did the standard ticket. It was prefect. I bought it on Groupon for $33 you could select any date or time. The elevator ride up and down is really cool. It's about 45 seconds and gets you up 100 floors. The views are spectacular. There are options to have your photos taken if you want for a cost. There is a restaurant up on top and a gift shop. Only down side is the views are from inside and behind glass.

    Rude responds from staff member
Great view of New York and all burrows, the only disappointment was when I asked a staff member if could stay and watch the introduction again. I was rudely told no and to exit the room straight away. Staff need some trains in interpersonal skills.

    Great views
We really enjoyed the experience. Very quick elevator, and great views from the top. It was very quick getting in - unlike other observatories there were hardly any queues to get in. There is glass all around (no outside area) hence reflections can be a problem for pictures, they advise to put phone cameras close to the glass. We wanted lunch and came across the cafe. So we grabbed food there but then realised there was a sit down restaurant next to the cafe, which we would have preferred. This is not clearly marked prior to entering the cafe area, which is a shame. We had a sandwich and then proceeded to go for drinks at the bar afterwards (it is not possible to bring food purchased at the cafe in the bar area !). Bar is a little expensive, but worth it given the great views ! Nice gift shop, with friendly staff. The main negative in our experience : one staff member was extremely rude after we got out of the elevator, telling us off for taking a picture and asking us to "move, move, photos can be taken on the next level" - if that is the case then it should be sign posted, as it is not necessarily obvious to people visiting for the first time. I don't think it is appropriate to shout at paying customers. My daughter was scared of this shouting !!

New view of New York and harbour
Grandkids loved seeing New York from the Observatory. Well worth it although not cheap but package on line saved us some money. The whole process very seamless. People very nice. Prices of food and water as high as the building

    Good Visit
One World Observatory has great views and a short presentation before going to see the view. The only downside is it is very commercialized with the staff attempting to upsell you with different things the entire time. On the way up you ride up with a staff member which was nice, however on the way down you do not which was not good due to guest behavior. Overall I got some amazing photos and would recommend.

    Such great heights
I love going high in the sky, Sears Tower, was the highest I've been until the One World. It's insane to think that the Burj in is still 1,000 feet taller than this monster. View was very nice of the city from up here. I recommend staying for the interactive show if you're up there! Very good information for any visitors!

    Worth it for the views
I was so looking forward to seeing Manhattan built up from grassland in the lift - each floor depicting each stage of development. That does happen but the lift does the 102 floors in 40+ seconds so you can’t take it all in . Try and video it to watch at your own pace .

    Worth the price
Greatly appreciated the visit. Show in the lift was a good start and then the video after exiting was a wow factor. Enjoyed the views all round. Not crowded and no wait. Had a$15 voucher but don't expect to get anything in the shop for that price because of taxes.

    You could see a lot
We could see all around the area... the statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn and Manhatten Bridges, the East River, New Jersey ... You ft safe because there were barriers about a foot from the windows. BUT everything was glasses, so you couldn't get pictures without reflections - especially since you couldn’t reach to put your camera up to the glass. That was disappointing.
Hello, Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience with us. I’m sure our future visitors will appreciate the pointers on making the most of their visit! Warm Regards, Delfin Ortiz General Manager One World Observatory
