Overall, we really enjoyed our visit at the library and highly recommend it. The displays range from curiosities (every day life in White House, gifts from foreign dignitaries etc.) and reminders of more serious historical events. The 9/11 area was especially moving. Whether you are a fan of the Bush family or not, the museum is engaging and thought provoking. There is a nice balance between written information, movie clips and artifacts, very well organized and well presented. Our favorite was the presentation on the situation room given by one of the docents. He was so knowledgeable and charismatic, I learned a lot about the presidential library system and about crisis management in the White House, absolutely fascinating. This presentation is only given a few times a day, don't miss it. I had to take one star away because staff seemed completely overwhelmed by the large number of visitors. Did nobody realize that on solar eclipse weekend, there would be larger crowds? How could the library not be prepared at all. At opening time, two large lines formed in the courtyard. We thought the shorter one would be for people already with tickets but no, there was no rhyme or reason and everyone was pushing into the same small entrance door. Fortunately we did end up in the shorter line. The bottleneck was created by the fact that there was only one scanner and two security guards operating it. There was no staff in sight anywhere outside. If staff had come out, created a single line, or separated out those with tickets, or those who had no purses, the process could have been sped up. When a lady working there finally appeared, she looked frazzled and ran back inside without making any announcements. The same lady later gave us the wrong information as to where to line up for the docent presentation and if we hadn't seen the docent walk by we would have missed it. Please contact the Reagan library about doing some basic training on how to manage visitors. Parking is in a gated lot across the street and costs a flat fee of 10 dollars.

George W. Bush‘s Presidential Library was my third (3rd) presidential library visit. I was in middle school through college when George W. Bush was the president. It was most interesting to go to this museum, because these historical events happened during a time in which I was alive and in which I was able to remember such events happening. There was a significant portion of the presidency dedicated to diseases; Hurricane Katrina; the September 11, 2001 attacks; and Bush’s familial and education experiences. There were many statues of Bush, and there was a re-creation of the Oval Office, but to get a picture at the Oval Office desk, individuals had to pay to purchase said photograph. The museum cost me twenty-three dollars ($23.00) admission with almost eleven dollars ($11.00) in parking fees at an adjacent parking lot. I thought that these prices were very steep, and I wish that the parking price was complementary. There were historical displays of American history in another wing of the building. The rose garden on the premises was very pretty, and although I did not purchase anything, there was a gift shop. Individuals had to go through a metal detector. Dorbert and Wayne were very helpful. This facility is found on the campus of Southern Methodist University, and this campus was very scenic and safe.

The George W. Bush library is on the campus of Southern Methodist University. It is a $10 parking fee on top of the ticket price. They do have a senior and child rate for lower prices. The museum is very well done and organized into specific themes/time periods. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and can answer any of your questions and offer more information on the topics at hand. There are many pictures and artifacts included in the museum, such as steel beams from the World Trade Center attacks, the jacket and baseball he wore/threw at the opening game of the World Series, dish ware and menus, clothing, etc. There is also an exact replica of the Oval Office and how it looked during his Presidency, and a nice outdoor rose garden you can walk through. One cool thing is that you can enter the "situation room" where you take on the role of President. You are faced with a topic and have to listen to opposing view points and make your final decision. It was very interesting to be in the "hot seat." In addition to the museum, your ticket also gets you into the special exhibit of freedom and how different groups (BIPOC, Women, LGBTQIA+, people with disabilities, etc) earned their freedoms. I would recommend this library for any person interested in history or in George and Laura as people. This is probably not the best place for kids, although it is a great learning experience for any age (and there are some hands-on kid exploration areas). The gift shop is nice, but it is on the pricey side.

Great presidential library. Very well done exhibits, parking is convent to the library, but does cost money. We throughly enjoyed the tour of the Situation Room, and listening to the talk by the docent in the oval office. The cost of the pictures taken in the oval office is to steep, but you can take your own photos, so we would recommend you do that.

We enjoyed our visit to study and relive the life of the 43rd U.S. president. This museum is one of thirteen Presidential Libraries and Museums in the United States. There were numerous artifacts, documents, audiovisuals and interactive displays. The retelling and reliving the 911 attacks and the response was outstanding. One can actually sit and admire a re-creation of the Oval Office. You can sit in the actual Situation Room which was moved from the White House and brought to the presidential library. The staff and historians were tremendously helpful and energized. Great gift store as well. The museum is located on the SMU campus in Dallas, Texas and is open Monday through Saturday 9am-5pm. Sunday is noon to 5pm. Highly recommended.

Visited as part of a trip through Southern States of USA. We arrived just after opening at 1000 and were able to walk around with ease. The museum is very well laid out with an easy route to follow through all the rooms. You follow a timeline of George seniors life and there are some very interesting exhibits from his early years aswell as a display of the many gifts he received as President. Good mention is made of Barbara too with some of her dresses on display. You need a good 3-4 hours to visit the museum. The only slight drawback was that after about 2 hours at least 4 school parties arrived mainly of junior school age who were rather boisterous!!! This rather spoilt the last part of the visit as the kids were rushing around a bit. The grounds are beautifully laid out with statues amongst the flower beds. There is a good cafe serving light meals.

Crossed another presidential site off my list. Definitely a more modern presidential museum with a lot of video presentations and interactive kiosks. With there had been more about his early life, family, and pre-presidential years. Comparatively high admission charge compared to other libraries. Price points of many items in the gift shop were way out of the league for most visitors.

Very informative and well organized. Learned a lot about the Bush presidency and also about his family. Staff were all helpful and ready to explain the exhibits. Paid parking was available right outside the library on the SMU campus.

Very impressive place. I am far from a republican but I left with a lot of admiration for George and Laura Bush and all they accomplished and the challenges they faced. Exhibits were graphically interesting- lots of artifacts and ways to interact with the info- I was particularly impressed with an interactive decision making exhibit where you got to put yourself in the president’s shoes, listen to advisors, and vote for a course of action (and then see what Bush did). Very effective. There were also a number of videos (including many related to 9/11 which were quite moving) and a very impressive hologram (??) tableau emphasizing the president as a representative of all the people. Beautiful campus, too, and easy parking.

The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum is excellent. We spent 90 minutes inside looking at all the exhibits. It’s a very informative and beautiful museum inside. I enjoyed the interactive Decision Points Theatre, as well as the 9/11 and Oval Office exhibits.
