    Beautiful
Summer is probably not the best time of year to come to the gardens unless you like to sweat. The day we went in June was 100 degrees and a heat advisory but when you’re from out of town you do your best. I feel like we did not see much of the garden because of the heat. What we saw was beautiful.

    Breath Taking Views!
Beautiful scenery! We sure did enjoy our time at the botanical gardens in Dallas. It was a nice place to walk around and enjoy the beautiful views. There was a lot of shade and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the flowers/plants!

    Must see!
Such a beautiful place! Very expansive and immaculate grounds filled with color, history, and stunning views. Got to participate in a tour of the familial home of the Dallas DeGolyer Estate which was breathtaking and educational. Definitely recommend visiting, but come prepared for the Texas heat!

Beautiful seclusion and peaceful spot for nature in the city
As a solo travel who wanted to get out of the city and away from people for a bit and enjoy some nature, the gardens were perfect. You can get an Uber there no problem they drop you at gate one and this month the entry is only $5, so it’s really good value. Of course with the weather warning you can’t expect anything other than the sturdiest summer plants and they are being tended to well, with gardeners hard at work. Due to the heat not many visitors were there so most of the time I had each area practically to myself it would only see a couple of other people. There are heaps of shady spots, perfect to take a picnic or book. There’s also a little cafe near gate one where you can get drinks and food. The waterfalls were beautiful and loved the wildlife too - squirrels and a variety of birds and butterflies. I’d been in two minds as to whether to go but was so glad I did. Getting an Uber back to downtown is no problem, they pick up from gate 3, you might just have to wait 10 mins.

    Way way beyond my expectations
I have been all over the world and this by far was the nicest garden I’ve ever been in. Keep in mind it was 100° plus the way this garden is manicured is quite remarkable. I was speechless when I found out that this is run and bought by the city of Dallas! Since we live in Texas, it was nice to see which plants thrive in the extreme heat! And unforgettable experience. Also, we had a lovely tour of the original beautiful colonial Mexican ranch style house. This was the highlight of our trip and we will definitely be back in different seasons. Also, it was so organized with purchasing of parking and the tickets in advance.

    Definitely worth a few hours!
This is a place not to be missed for any level of garden or nature enthusiast. While it was hot during our visit, everything is well cared for and manicured beautifully. There was so much to see around every corner! Three things in particular were memorable: the water features and fish, the cafe on the patio (that peach smoothie!) and the many beautiful young ladies on the grounds having quinceanera photos taken.

Perfect Tween Outing/ Chaperoned Day Date
+picnics allowed +water bottles/canteens- I took a half gallon size and drank it all. +plenty of cool down areas +live music +lots of color & beauty left from the scorching summer season to admire 14 year old children loved this experience. There is a kiddy for younger guests that was popular on this hot day. DA offers plenty of cool off fountains and shaded play areas. Even in the heat of the 2:00 sun- shady spots and sitting areas provided cool down. The Coy pond was a perfect cool off spot for the teenagers. Young daters took to this area as well. The grassy knoll is also a perfect hangout for the teen girls & their charcuteries. The tram took this hot momma back to base, and the sprite teenagers walked the entire park. A great three hour excursion & break from tik toking.

Gorgeous and well kept haven in Dallas
Wonderful!!! Was a hot day but we found plenty of shade. Pumpkins were out. It was just gorgeous. Went to the children’s area which is more for little kids but my 15 and 10 year olds still enjoyed it. Cafe was excellent. Highly recommend for an outing.

    beautiful grounds, well kept
It didn't take long to get in. The areas are beautiful and very well kept. The pumpkin patch was well done. They need signs that the pumpkins are not for taking. They also need signs stating this way to this garden as we were lost most of the time. The map is maybe ok. It kept getting more and more crowded. Restrooms could have been cleaner. There is an automatic 3% convenience fee added to your lunch bill.

    Fantastic Christmas display
As out of town visitors we discovered this activity. We went in the evening ( bought tickets on line in advance), to see the.Christmas display. It is really well done. There are 12 gazebos each decorated as one of the 12 days on Christmas song. There also is a well done Christmas village. There you can get a beverage incl wine and beer, a few food items, and a few specialty items from vendors. It will get very crowded after thanksgiving up to Christmas; go early if you want to miss the big crowds.
