This place is HUGE. You can easily spend 4+ hours there with your kids. Lots of interactive things to do, most of them are for kids older than 4 but there was still more than enough for my 2 year old to do. If it's nice out make sure to go outside and check out everything that they have out there, that is probably the coolest part of the museum so don't miss it! Parking is free across the road with a bridge that goes from the parking garage to the museum. Prices are pretty steep so be prepared for that, but overall this is by far the best children's museum I have been in.

For Christmas, I bought a donor membership for $300, so that I can take all three grandchildren (6,8,10) as well as two other ppl. With that, you get -10% at the gift shop and the food court, and a free stroller. A stroller is great, to carry your coats, a backpack, water bottles etc. You can refill your water bottles at some of the water fountains, as well. The first thing we do when we go is to ask the concierge to print out a daily schedule of events, which includes any demonstrations, any programs, any craft opportunities and any shows like at the Lilly Theater (which is great! Love those shows). We've been many times, and we never have seen it all. The girls absolutely love Greece, the Winterfaire slide, the crafts, the Playscape and everything in the museum. They do love the carousel and we ride for free with our membership. This is a wonderful experience. Bring water bottles, sandwiches, snacks and change for the centrifugal change whirly-thingy. If your family gets SNAP or any state assistance, you can get an Access Pass and get in for $2.

What an incredible museum. We loved the interactive displays and all of the varied sections of the museum. We even got to chat with a scientist working on dinosaur bones. On this trip we did not even have any children with us and we still loved our visit. Be sure to plan time to go to the outdoor sports section as well.

I had heard wonderful things about this museum and it lived up to the hype! A ton of hands on activities for our kids including opportunities for them to put on costumes, and get into their activities. In addition we were amazed by the animation Dino studio, and the joyful dancing going on in the middle of the main floor. Our kids loved this place and their joy brought joy to us when we really needed it. We were very impressed with this museum and recommend it highly to families with young kids visiting Indy.

My husband and I went with our friends and their two little girls to the Indianapolis Children’s Museum. It was so neat! There are lots of interactive elements in each of the exhibits to keep everyone entertained and engaged. Right now, they have a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles exhibit and a pop culture exhibit. Both were excellent. As adults, we had almost as much fun as the kids did. They had some serious exhibits that were very dark. I love that they are exploring real world issues there for the children to be exposed to and be able to ask questions about.

Had an awesome time with my 3 year old at the museum. He had a full day of fun. We will visit this play every year with kids. I'd recommend families to bring snacks or even meals as we didn't find many options at the cafeteria.
