Fun trip to the Two Oceans Aquarium! My wife and I had a free day for ourselves to roam the Victoria Alfred Waterfront and surrounding Cape Town area, so we checked out the Two Oceans Aquarium where we had booked a penguin encounter. The encounter was great, the staff did a fantastic job of giving us info about their operation, introducing us to many of the penguin residents and providing photo opportunities for us! We stayed at the aquarium for a while afterwards and enjoyed the multiple exhibits, the sea life, and we even stopped in the coffee shop for some lattes and a bite to eat. The aquarium also has a nice little souvenir shop that will cover any gift needs one might have. Prices were very reasonable and despite a few school groups, it never got overcrowded enough to be uncomfortable. It was a very enjoyable visit. I recommend stopping by if in the waterfront area, you won’t he disappointed.

Insightful and informative experience with a set up that allows you learn a lot about fishes, sharks and other sea life at your own pace. The lighting and music adds to a relaxing atmosphere. There are different seating areas for you to pause and take it all in with a drink in hand if you want, as there is a cafe inside. You can also get discounts on the entry fee after 3pm.

Spent a great morning here on my last day in Cape Town. When I found out that an hour long behind the scenes tour (which includes admission to the aquarium) was just a little bit more than admission alone, I signed up! Turns out I was the only one who had booked a behind the scenes tour that morning, so ended up with a private tour! Loved getting to see the hard work that goes into keeping the aquarium up and running! Afterwards, I took my time wandering through the exhibits. Given the aquarium's focus, I got to admire a few species that I'd never seen before...and the kelp forest exhibit was really unique. Loved that they have a little coffee cart near one of their main exhibits--loved enjoying a drink while admiring the sea life!

A beautiful aquarium that once again clearly shows that we need to take better care of our oceans. The many basins from small to very large are nicely decorated and populated by fish and beautiful corals from the Two Oceans. It exceeded my expectations.

On a dreary Cape Town day, we opted to stick in city central and take the kiddos to the aquarium. It is nice sized, but definitely not the most fascinating aquarium we have been to. We got lucky and decided to skip out on one of the talks...by doing so, we were ahead of the crowd and caught the keepers herding the penguins around the open facility...they went RIGHT by us - coolest part of the experience!

On a slightly drizzly and cloudy day we went here to pass a few hours before the sun came out again. reasonably priced at around £10pp. Clean, tidy, with knowledgeable staff and exhibits were all well laid out. The fish and animals all seemed well care for, in comfortable environments and there was a clear focus on sustainability and animal welfare rather than just money and visitors. The penguins were a highlight -happy, swimming and family. Spent around 2 hours here and did it all and left happy.

What a sensational place! Well organized, with a variety of animals, souvenir shop, dining room and clean bathrooms. Extremely receptive with families with children of any age. My wife is I spent 4 hours in the aquarium. Our cake cherry was Penguin Experience. Guided by an employee, we were able to see the backstage of the aquarium: how penguin meals are prepared, as well as the medications and vitamins; organizational tables, employees and volunteers, how they work and interact. Then we entered the Yellow Pen penguin camp, we sat on towels and towels were placed on our legs so that we could interact with the birds, all under supervision. The guide explained to us while we caressed the penguins. Then we could give them materials they use in the nests. The whole process takes about half an hour, must be paid in part and booked well in advance. I booked three months before to avoid trouble. Worth every penny. Having contact with the penguins is something I'll carry with me forever. Overall, my wife and I stayed more than 4 hours in the aquarium. Details: I have no children, but I felt child again. Unforgettable experience!

I've been coming here for 16 years and I still love it! I've been to a few other aquariums and this has to be one of the best. Definitely recommend coming here, for all ages. The aquarium is actually also pretty large, took us around 1-2 hours to do. The sharks were my favorite! 🦈

The aquarium is a solid destination. There are many interesting animals to see and there is also plenty on offer for children. The feedings are of course always worth seeing. The entrance fee of 12 euros is very touristy by South African standards, but it is OK.

What a wonderful Aquarium. The expanse of sea animals and information is amazing. The jelly fish blow my mind and were very well displayed. It was a delight to see the penguins walk back from their swim and the cape penguins be fed. In addition we did the "behind the scenes" tour which was fantastic. Our wonderful guide was so enthusiastic, knowledgeable and so much fun showing us the tanks, the feed, what makes the aquarium tick and how they keep it going every day of the year. Would recommend this tour.
