We spent a bit more than an hour here, including having a quick lunch, and felt we had time to see all that we wanted. In November we had easy parking, but noted that in peak season it would be far away or better to get a ride share. Ticket purchase was simple, and a guide helped us understand the layout of the property. We did the loop, and saw many native Texas plants. There’s an amazing playground and we saw many kids enjoying it. But for us the best things were the main gardens that benefitted from showing plants in their native habitat. Many of these would never be in a garden outside this area, and like so many botanical gardens, they are a fine way to understand the nature of the place. There’s a nice small cafe for lunch (great chicken salad sandwich!) and a fine shop, with everything from small seed packets to gifts and collectibles.

An amazing venue that embraces nature, appropriate for all ages. Accessible mostly flat trails & sturdy walkways provide a safe and inviting pathway for accessible devices. We toured the beautiful gardens, exhibits and children forts on Friday after Thanksgiving with a 90 year old, grandparents, young parents and young school age children — perfect place for all of us to enjoy and engage the outdoors. Austin is blessed to have leaders, corporate sponsors and visionaries who’ve gone before us — so we can learn and enjoy this world class garden campus.

We thoroughly enjoyed strolling around this small garden. What a beautiful, peaceful setting just a short way from Austin. There is ample parking, a very nice gift shop, café. The garden is very family friendly and there are lots of paths and play areas for kinds to run around. Be sure to check out the mama owl at the entrance. Bill, a volunteer, pointed her out and let us view her through his binoculars. If I lived in Austin, I’d probably be a member just to have a peaceful place to get away from the busy city. Much more enjoyable than the Zilker Botanical Garden.

Beautiful gardens - nice and peaceful to walk around. We went end of March so perfect for wildflower viewing - especially texas blue bells. Nice gift shop. Perfect for post LBJ ranch and boyhood home visit.

This is an exceptional garden with beautiful facilities as well as a great restaurant! We went in the middle of a hot summer and there was still plenty blooming and so much to see. Lots of vibrant insects! Beautiful water features and great exhibits. Nice trails! Don’t miss climbing the rock tower! Beautiful rock and stone work plus a 360° view from the top. Loved all the stonework throughout the gardens as well as all the running water. Appreciated all the labels throughout the garden. We are big gardeners but still saw many unfamiliar plants. Nice bronzes throughout the family garden. It would have been nice to see one of Lady Bird herself as well as a nice film featuring her with places to sit and watch. The film currently in the children’s house is so short with nowhere to sit. There is a wonderful picnic area and fabulous playground as well. Bring your water. They have many refill stations.
