Hotels near Dragon Bridge

This 2,185-foot-long bridge shaped like an undulating golden dragon is the most famous bridge over the Han River in downtown Danang. On weekend nights, the dragon comes to life in quite an unusual way: the bridge is closed to traffic, and the massive dragon head on the east end of the bridge releases bursts of flames and water in a spectacular night show. Prepare to get wet if you stand on the bridge near the head. Otherwise, you can view the spectacle from the river bank along Tran Hung Dao Street or many of the nearby rooftop bars. The bridge is usually a stop on a night tour of Da Nang. – Tripadvisor

    Spectacularly wet! But worth it!
Visiting the dragon bridge on any given night is quite spectacular. But if you happen to be in Da Nang on a Friday or Saturday I would definitely suggest checking it out around 21.00 when it does the fire/water performance. If you decide to climb on top of the bridge to see the show. Then don't be a fool like me and pay attention to the direction of the wind. You DON'T want to be standing downwind from it because you will get wet, not just a little wet, no, you will get soaked! But definitely worth to check out.

Fri, Sat, Sun - 9PM, be there
We were 6 days in Da Nang, crossed this iconic bridge many times, but to get the most of it be there on weekends at 9 PM. 10 min before that time the bridge closes for traffic. At 9PM starts a show when first the Dragon spits fire and after that sprays huge amounts of water (watch out where you stand, we ended up being totally wet, returning after to our hotel to change). This performance lasts around 10 min and is totally worth coming.

    Everyone cheering...
Tickets are not required for this free experience. 😄 We had so much fun laughing. The fire was great, but the water spray was even better. It's an exciting time when the clock hits 9 p.m. and everyone starts cheering.

    Fun and Something Different
The Dragon Bridge fire and water show is a little gimmicky but a lot of fun. Alongside the river, underneath the bridge, is the best viewing spot unless you're keen to get wet. There's inexpensive street food available and as the 9pm time for the show draws near, a real shared camaraderie and party atmosphere develops.

    Main Highlight of Da Nang
It was the first day of Lunar Chinese New Year on 10 Feb 2024 which is also when the Vietnamese celebrate Tet. Conicidentally it was a Saturday where the Dragon comes to live at 9pm. Moreover it is the year of the Dragon and it is every reason to be there at the Dragon Bridge head to celebrate the first day of Chinese New Year and Tet to see it spitting fire in 3 sessions and spraying water in 3 sessions. We stood at Tượng Cá Chép Hóa Rồng platform (a statue like a fish fountain). By 8:30pm the place was already quite crowded and by 9pm everyone was excited enjoying the dragon's performance. There are many ways to watch the dragon from near or afar or from decorated boats if the timing is right. I didn't manage to book the boat during the last minite with the right timing because it was all sold out but I was glad we didn't because it is better to watch from the harbour side anywhere you like. If you are in Da Nang during weekends, this activity should not be missed. This dragon shows the prosperity of Da Nang and Vietnam.

    Beautiful bridge. Safe for biking
Beautiful!! I really like this bridge that I biked across herea sevral times on my day trio to Danang, just to admire the beauty. Anyway I went on Thursday so I couldn’t watch the fire performance. What a pity :(

Go later in day to see by day and by night
Great location to visit. Lots of restaurants and a night market close by. There is a fire and steam show from the dragon on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights at 9:00 PM. They close the bridge and it lasts approximately 15 minutes

    Fun to watch
We stay just @ the tail end of the dragon, and watched the show from that end first time. It is too far away to get a good experience. Second time we saw it from the front and that made the show much better. So go watch it but do it from the head end.

Yep, cool and see. The night market next door is fun.
After spending time at Son Tra Night Market, I moved around 8:45 and took a seat, but the view was good and the space was nice. It takes a while to get a Grab after the end, but it's a good place to see while spending a night in Danang. If you don't have too high expectations, you'll be satisfied.

Fun bridge to look and walk on
It is undoubtedly one of Da Nang’s iconic bridges. You can walk under it, close to it, or on it as it has a wide pedestrian pavement connecting its head to its tail. You get a good view of the water and other bridges while on it, and on weekends at 9 pm, there is a mini event where the dragon spits water and fire, so can be fun to watch. Make sure you are at the dragon head end when the show starts to get a close feel of it, being at the tail side makes you quite far from the action. Worth a quick visit while in Da nang.
