    Wonderful Experience
An amazing experience. You can get to the island via boat from the old city in Dubrovnik and either lounge near the water, sight sea near the ruins or hike up to see the fort. Highly recommend the Lacroma restaurant there for lunch.

    Exceptional!
Breathtaking views from this beautiful Island. We began our day trip by going right, rather than following the crowd to the left. We're pleased we did this as it was cooler in the morning and the walk to the very top is steep in parts. Mostly shaded by trees. The views are truly beautiful from Fort Royal, absolutely the climb and steps up to the top! There are many trails to take and each one has something to see! We passed the cross of Triton and climbed rock formations. On our route back, we took the "path of paradise", which lead us to a wander through an olive grove, which has wandering peacocks and a well-kept botanical garden. We ended our trip with a (slightly pricey) drink at a cocktail cafe, which overlooked a pretty lagoon, named "the dead sea", which is ideal for a relaxing swim.

    Lokrum Island
Departure for the island of Lokrum with the first boat (9:00 a.m.). No one on the island and correct temperature. Very friendly boat staff. Arrival on the island which is truly on a human scale (the visit took us 5km). The signage is approximately correct to find your way to the island. If you are a fan of Game of Thrones, you can visit the filming locations where only the throne remains which is freely accessible for a photo. The royal fort will require a little stamina as it rises to almost 100 meters above sea level (bearing in mind that you start at sea level), but it is worth the detour for the view. Several restaurants are available on the island. We tested the Lacroma, dear (we are on an island) half-smiling person. The roads are from time to time filled with stones so be careful of sprains. The island has managed to keep its authenticity, in many places you will be able to see the many peacocks doing cartwheels!

    Exploring Lokrum island
Very nice island to visit for the day. Just a short boat trip that leaves hourly from the old town harbour. Nice walk around the island with nice view of Dubrovnik old town. Lots of peacocks around the monastery. Highlight of lokrum would be sitting on the iron throne from Games of Thrones!

Lovely half day with the peacocks
A half day trip to this island is a must if visiting Dubrovnik. The ferry ride only takes 10 minutes and costs 27 Euros per person (discounted by 30% if you have the 7 day Dubrovnik Pass). Once there you can visit various sites on the island, including Botanical Gardens. Game of Thrones fans will want to sit on the Iron Throne which is on this island. Peacocks roam freely around the island!

    Peace
After a short 15 minute ferry ride to the island, you find a quiet, peaceful place where you can walk, sit, and generally enjoy a time away from the hectic old town of Dubrovnik. There are several sites to explore with an old monastery, botanical gardens, game of thrones exhibition, or just enjoy the sea view. It is also possible to have a swim in a pool called the Dead Sea.

Beautifull island. The birds were magnificant. Very nice view on sea and dubrovnik. Also all flowers and plants was nice to view and the air smelled lovely. Be aware that gift shop closes at 5 while last boat leaves the island at 6.

    An island to visit!
We visited the island leaving at 10 a.m. from the old port of Dubrovnik and returning with the 3:30 p.m. boat. We had time to leisurely tour the island on foot and climb The Path of Paradise to discover the royal fort. The place is preserved and large enough to get away from other tourists. The coves are very pretty and there are beautiful panoramas. In the botanical garden, there are small shaded picnic tables. Game of Thrones fans will be delighted to be able to find several locations in Qarth and sit on the Iron Throne. The ticket for the connection between Dubrovnik and Lokrum also allows access to all the attractions on the island (monastery, botanical garden, Lazaretto...) With the Dubrovnik Card, you benefit from a small reduction on the ticket (-20% for the 3-day pass)

    Green walk around Dubrovnik
Great island to visit for a nature walk. Departure from the old port for 15 minutes by boat at €27 return. A little expensive, but the island is well maintained and a fire service is there, you have to pay well for this. Visiting advice: leave directly for the royal fort to avoid the crowds going straight ahead and go in the opposite direction to the others. We arrived at 9 a.m., no one in front, it was nice. The island is big enough not to see too many people except I imagine to take your Game of Thrones photo where you have to queue (we don't care). 3 bars/restaurants on the island. We had our picnic. Be careful, peacocks get clingy but not dangerous. Allow 3 hours to do the leisurely tour and more to stroll around.

    Paradise Island
Having initially been in two minds about whether to go across to Lokrum Island, I was really pleased that we decided to go across. The boat trip is 10-15 mins each way and the cost was c.€64 for 2 adults/ 2 children! There is plenty to do and see on the island including the Game of Thrones exhibition which seems to be a big draw for many visitors - while I did sit on the Iron Throne, Ive honestly never watched an episode of GoT! Beyond that, we enjoyed walking on the rocks and seeing the dead sea. I probably underestimated the walk/hike up to the fort but again it was well worth it for the views! The restaurants/ shops on the island (as with a lot of places across the Old Town) are an absolute rip off so I would recommend bringing a packed lunch/picnic across! Another little tip would be to bring the swimming gear and have a dip - was only raging I didnt!

  • Banje Beach Hotels
With beautiful blue water and great panoramic views of the Old Town and Lokrum Island, Banje Beach is one of the Dubrovnik’s most popular spots amongst locals and travelers. Soak up the sun on the golden sand or get your heart racing on one of the beach’s jet skis or water tubes. The beach is also home to a selection of restaurants and cafés on the waterfront so you don't have to go far to grab a bite or recharge in the shade. If you’re looking for a cocktail or two, head to the beach club, which becomes a busy nightclub at sundown. – Tripadvisor

  • Lopud Island Hotels
The atmosphere on Lopud Island is peaceful and relaxing, in part due to absence of cars on the island. Grab yourself a buggy taxi to the Sunj sand beach, or opt for a scenic half an hour walk. Relax in a hammock sipping on a cocktail, before checking out the restaurants, bakeries, and souvenir shops along the promenade. Lopud Island is often visited as part of a three-island tour, or as a day trip via ferry from Dubrovnik. For the best weather, time your visit between June and September. – Tripadvisor

  • Sveti Jakov Beach Hotels
This local favorite isn’t as well-known as Banje Beach, but offers the same splendid views. Tucked in a hidden bay to the east of Dubrovnik Old Town, Sveti Jakov (St. Jacob) Beach is surrounded by majestic cliffs and turquoise waters. The beach is covered with fine pebbles, so water shoes are recommended. A cozy beach bar and restaurant will sate any hunger pangs, and there are also sunbeds and umbrellas available for rent. After a day of snorkeling, diving, or sunbathing, climb a steep staircase to reach the historic Church of St. Jacob, after which the beach is named. – Tripadvisor
