- Peter S2 contributionsGlad we didn't skip thisExcellent museum, with huge indoor and outdoor spaces. Most information in English, I learned a lot about Korean history. And it's free. Only downside is it closes quite early (6pm) - it was such a pleasant evening we could have enjoyed staying a little later.Visited February 2024Traveled with familyWritten March 25, 2024
- WayneBrisbane, Australia28 contributionsImpressiveWOW. A truly impressive collection of military weapons and memorabilia. I spent a good half of the day wandering around this museum and learning about Korean history. This museum spans back from early history to recent. The collection of tanks and aircraft was as good as I have seen. It also gives true respect to the countries that came to fight alongside it in the Korean conflict. The museum carries through to today in the Korean military commitments. I left feeling very respectful for the South Korean struggle through the history of time.Visited April 2024Traveled soloWritten April 2, 2024
- Jeff KPittsburgh, Pennsylvania2,476 contributionsOutstanding MuseumI knew a fair amount about the Korean War going in but know a lot more now. A lot of information and very well presented. We spent about 2 hours here and needed another hour or so. This is a Must See attraction in Seoul. Much more important than the Disney-esque palaces.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 2, 2024
- CZ-MilkaCzech Republic26 contributionsGreat MuseumA great museum that takes you through the Korean military and wars. Several floors, lots of exhibits, including outdoor ones. Lots of labels in English. Free admission. Set aside at least half a day!Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten April 10, 2024
- KUMDORIDaejeon, South Korea1 contributionI recommend 'The War Memorial of Korea'Do you know about the forgotten war? which is another name for the Korean War. 74 years ago, South Korea invaded by North Korea, So South Korea is in a big crisis. The War Memorial of Korea was built not to forget the forgotten war. If you watch the 6.25 War Room, You can see how much sacrifice and help there was at the time. And you'll know Freedom is not free. If you find more Something to enjoy, Go to the outdoor exhibition space. There are all kinds of military equipment, including tanks, planes, and patrol boat. My recommendation is the B-52 bomber, which is only on display in two countries other than the United States. I hope you have a good time in The War Memorial of Korea.Visited March 2024Traveled soloWritten April 12, 2024
- NICHOLAS TDubai, United Arab Emirates10,942 contributionsSuperb museumThis is a very well stocked and poignant museum recording conflict on the Korean peninsula down the geared, with a focus on the Korean War of the 1950s. There is an impressive collection of military hardware, including planes, tanks and helicopters as well as a multitude of displays charting the history of the war and its participants. There are also a number of short films about the war. The footprint is huge and you need a couple of hours to do it justice.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 12, 2024
- Marion FNew York City, New York311 contributionsOn war and the pursuit of peaceThis is a must do for adults and anyone with kids. Tracing Koreas history thru its wars from the foundation of the country to modern day war and peace efforts the museum give a really great snapshot of not just Korea's start but the similar points in history in other parts of the world as well. Very interactive, there were lots of video displays available in multiple languages and the top floor has video gamesVisited April 2024Traveled soloWritten May 5, 2024
- Christian MCopenhagen, Denmark6,223 contributions- but what was the background of the war? It's a generous gesture that all visitors can enter and view the eerie exhibits from the Korean War without paying. Given that, one shouldn't complain about the museum. There are plenty of weapons, tanks, planes, and even an entire warship on display. There are film clips, newspaper articles, official documents, a couple of shiny black limousines, and notably, impressive reconstructions of battle scenes with life-sized soldiers. However, a significant missing piece is the background of the war. Why did Kim Il Sung, with support from Stalin and Mao Zedong, choose to invade the South? Naturally, the museum focuses on important dates and the roles of the Americans and the UN in the war, but it's also interesting to understand why the war started in the first place…?Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 26, 2024
- macedonboyGlasgow, United Kingdom186,189 contributionsExcellent Museum and War MemorialThe entrance and surrounding area has several monumental sized memorials to the fallen of South Korea and all the Allied Nations that helped defend against the North Korean Invasion. The semi-circular plaza leading up to has monuments specific to each allied nation, with a flag marking the country and a marker to describe the contribution that each country made. The 1st floor focuses on the background of the Korean War and the main battles. Sections are divided into major battles, notable individuals, units of the ROK and a run through the course of the war from the retreat to the Pusan Perimeter, through the pursuit to the Yalu River and finally the stalemate at the 38th parallel. The second floor is split between the UN and allied contingent that supported South Korea, and the Korean Armed Forces. The former is a poignant thanks. The latter has many excellent exhibits and information about the 4 Korean military arms. There's also videos that come across as a little jingoistic. Overall, the place is a fine monument to the fallen of South Korea, while the museum is a fine military and history exhibition. Much of the war is described from the POV of the South Korea so perhaps a bit one sided, but that’s not unusual for national war memorials.Visited May 2024Traveled with friendsWritten May 26, 2024

- Trickeye Museum Seoul HotelsThe Trickeye Museum is "one of a kind" painting gallery, which combines art with hi-end technology - so-called AR (Augmented Reality) effect and 2D/3D illusions. Instead of merely viewing paintings (as in a typical art gallery), visitors can interact with the paintings using newly developed Trickeye Camera application to make pictures alive in order to be a part of the artwork and record it on video or make a picture. Moreover, there is the Ice Museum located in the Trickeye Museum, items in which are fully made out of ice such as iced TV, ice kitchen, ice slope etc. With one admission ticket you can enjoy both "Trickeye Museum" and "Ice Museum". To ensure that even its busiest customers have time to enjoy the fun, the museum stays open each day all around the year from 9 AM until 9 PM (last admission by 8 PM), making it a popular date and hang-out place. Outside of the main exhibition hall there is museum café, which exclusively serves Latte with Your picture from the phone on it.Read more
