    Beautiful
Great view, great atmosphere, definitely will go back Advise buy the tickets with the skip the lines, lines can be very long and wait times to go up or down can be tiresome. The church is very beautiful, and functional so you can hear mass or confess over there. Don’t forget to make a wish in the well, and do a little shopping.

Excellent walk down the mountain from a great height.
We took the teleférico up and enjoyed looking at the view. However there were lots of stores all trying to sell us things which was a bit annoying. The church is lovely and there was a service in when we were there. But for us the highlight was walking down the mountain. There is a path and it’s listed as a Camino, part of the Camino De Santiago. There were lots of steps and even railings and the view was incredible!! Highly recommend it!!

If hiking go early and be prepared
The hiking trail is just one of a few different ways to reach the top. The other includes funicular and cable car. My son and I decided to walk up. He managed it fine until marker 6 then even he struggled. I however started to struggle by marker 1. As I live near the sea and had only just arrived in Bogotá I discovered that you can get altitude sickness. Near marker 4 I was physically sick. The positives are that the views are amazing. There are birds and nature to see going up. There are drink vendors on the way up. Lots at the top and bottom. I would recommend going earlier as cooler (wear sunscreen-I got burnt), good comfortable shoes. At times the path and steps are very uneven and slippery with leaves so be careful. I am of average fitness and was totally caught out by it. Yet, I saw a few people run up it? Just be careful if not used to the altitude.

    Excellent views!
Definitely worth doing if you're in Bogota. Great views over the whole of the city on a clear day. Makes you realise just how big Bogota is. Nice church and some cafes/kiosks and couple good restaurants at the top, as well as statues of the 14 stations of the cross. If you come up on the funicular you walk right past them to access the viewpoints. However, funicular often only runs weekends, otherwise you will come up and down in the cable car. You can also take a steep walk up in about an hour. During holiday periods and weekends there can be waits of up to an hour so worth buying a fast pass ticket in advance. I had read that this area can be dangerous but if you exercise the normal precautions and visit during the day I don't think it is.

Nice way to spend an afternoon.
Nice place to spend a couple of hours. We took an Uber to the funicular's ticket booth. We paid senior rate for return tickets. We didn’t have to wait long for the cable car. enjoyed the ride up. It was cloudy with occasional drizzle at the top the temperature was about 20c .By the time we had gone to the church the sky was still cloudy but no rain. There are a lot of vendors selling local food and souvenirs. The gardens are well tended. Plenty of plants and trees. We were not used to the altitude in Bogota and up at the Monserrat. I was a little winded walking around. I don’t think I could have walked up. We were glad we checked it out. We may have stayed longer if it would have been a brighter day. There were quite a lot of people so The wait for the cable car to go down was a lot longer than going up.

    Worth the Hike!
I went there early in the morning. I just hiked to the top of the mountain. The scenery is just breathtaking, it has beautiful views of the city. Try to go early in the morning because there are many crowds. I recommend to attend mass at the shrine. Avoid going late because they close at 1.00 p.m.

Beautiful place, but don't buy round trip ticket
Beautiful view. The ride up in the cable car was nice. Trying to get down was not a good experience! The line for return was at least an hour. We bought round-trip tickets at the bottom, but they neglected to say that unless you want to stay in line at the top you have to get a different return ticket at the top for preferred access to the cable car. So throw away the round trip.

    Excellent view
There is no place closer than 2,600 meters to the stars. 😂. (Vas a estar 2600 metros más cerca de las estrellas 🌟 ) This place has a wonderful view. I can definitely say that it was worth waiting in line for the cable car. Don't forget to take your place on the cable car. Each cabin can accommodate 40 people. You may wait a bit in line. Stand back and enjoy the two-way view. It's all about the contrasts of life 😂

    Nice view Easy to Arrive
Once you are up there the view is beautiful! There is a lot of people selling Colombian things for a good price. There is also a machine that gives you a Monserrate Coin that is a nice souvenir, important; the machine only accepts the exact amount no coins and the bill needs to be in a good state. If you want to go up in the Funicular try to use the last spot it have the best view Recommended

    Great even in rainy weather
It was raining and cloudy when we took the cable car to the top of Monserrate. Even so it’s a spectacular place. The shopping market is outdoor stalls partially covered save really touristy. The restaurant selection is good. Well worth a visit.
