To get here, we hired a tuktuk driver to take us to the killing fields, wait and then bring us back. We took the audio guide tour and followed it throughout the killing fields. The speakers described what horrors happened to those Cambodians sent here for death. It was shocking to be walking in their footsteps to the places where the guards ended their lives and buried them. The memorial contained thousands of skulls and bones that just impacted us. We removed our shoes before entering. It was tight inside to walk around each side but this was where one could see many examples of torture and mortal wounds inflicted. It was chilling to also see the tools used by the guards to execute their kills. Near the front was a small museum with photos and a theatre. Shoes had to be removed here as well before entering. This will not be a place to be easily forgotten after visiting.

Important to visit to understand Cambodia. The audio guide is exceptionally well done, especially considering the heartbreaking subject, and guides you round the site. Lots of shaded benches to sit on as you listen so you can take your time.

This experience is difficult, but well worth the effort. We took a tuck tuck out for the 30 minute ride and our driver waited for us. The admission fee is only $6 and comes with a narration headset. The narrator is excellent and it is extremely moving. None of it is sugar-coated and you may find yourself weeping at times. It is worth listening to the entire narration as we learned things we didn't know.

This is a haunting place and shows the depravity of one man and his regime. I was shocked to hear that Pol Pot was recognised as the leader of Cambodia even after he had been overthrown by the Vietnamese... USD6 entry includes an audio guide. I chose not to take pictures here. There are human skulls and other bones here. A difficult visit but a worthwhile one.

We visited here as part of our organised trip and had a local guide with us. We entered and our guide took us around and showed us the earth with some of the fragments of clothing is being revealed, the mass graves where bones were excavated etc. It's all quite hard to hear and harrowing, but has to be seen to be understood and rightly remembered for being utterly heartbreaking.

A must-do in PP but not uplifting. Learning about the events of the civil war that waged in this country is crucial. Audio tour was well narrated and there were a good number of shaded benches around to sit and listen to the “museum” at the end was a little disappointing but overall would recommend a visit.

As others have said, audio guide is worth it though there is small information signs. The route can be a little disconnected but they’ve done an amazing job of preserving this heartbreaking place. Wasn’t too crowded and eerily quiet - a place to reflect, be grateful, gain perspective and hope it never happens again.

Visiting Choeung Ek Genocidal Center was a deeply moving and educational experience. Walking through this site, once a mass killing field, was profoundly emotional. The audio guide provided essential context and survivor testimonies, which helped us better understand the horrific events that occurred here. The stupa filled with skulls serves as a haunting reminder of Cambodia’s tragic past but also underscores the resilience of its people. It is a place of reflection, remembrance, and a solemn reminder of the importance of peace and human rights. A must-visit for anyone seeking to learn more about Cambodia’s history.

A little outside the city is this memorial site. The guide gave us an explanation of the graves, what was found and what happened in such a short time. I think you should have seen this. It doesn't make you happy. In the middle is a tower / temple where you see many skulls and bones. Take off your shoes and walk around quietly. At the back of the site is a small museum and a video room.

Impressive experience. A must-do when visiting Cambodia. Tip 1: I would recommend first visiting this prison museum before heading out to visit the Killing fields. This provides a better chronological explanation. Tip 2: There really is no need to book an organised tour. Just take any tuk tuk to easily get there and back.
