- rz0dcrSheffield, United Kingdom341 contributionsImpressive Place to VisitExtremely impressive and huge, be prepared to spend a few hours here. Upon approaching the palace we were constantly approached by people telling us they can get us in quicker, just ignore these scammers, once we were at the entrance it there was no queue at all. It’s worth noting you need to cover your legs for both males and females. We hired elephant pants from a seller 50bht plus 100bht deposit. You could purchase you own if you wish to do so. It’s extremely hot inside but there is plenty of shelter from the sun, just make sure you have water.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 9, 2023
- AmandaJCambridgeshire, United Kingdom29 contributionsDon't forget the school of massage on siteTo be frank, it's a must-see if you're in Bangkok and its worth and hour or two of your time but ( perhaps reasonably ) there's very little explaination of anything, in any other language than Thai. When I requested an audio guide I was wafted away and didn't see any on site. Don't let that put you off. If you want to feed your mind, take your guide book. More importantly, on arrival, book in for an on-site massage at the "school" of massage right near the entrance. After the Golden Buddha, this was the highlight of my visit. Get a massage ticket, look around the Grand Palace, come back an hour later and have the best value ever 1 hour foot massage 💆♀️ . See menu below. Recommended.Visited October 2023Traveled soloWritten October 22, 2023
- genibre69London, United Kingdom5,419 contributionsWorth the 500 baht ppI debated on even going after reading the mixed reviews but I’m so glad my husband and I went this AM!! We arrived about 9:30 and yes, it was REALLY crowded (lots of tour groups), but I have feeling it gets worse in the afternoon. The architecture is indeed beautiful and it’s worth wandering the grounds. The emerald Buddha is a disappointment though: tons of people trying to jam into a smallish room where no photos are technically allowed. From a visual perspective, the Buddha isn’t OMG 😱 It’s lovely but worth the hype. You can pay the 500 baht pp via credit card which is a huge plus over Wat Pho which is cash only. Note the appropriate dress attire is strictly observed.Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 9, 2023
- LoganAntwerp, Belgium3 contributionsMagnificent and amazingIt is a very beautiful place. The details in the palace are amazing. Expect to be there for several hours!!! Each place inside is different. Such an artistic paradise It's really amazing and beautiful. But there were also a lot of people, and there was no way to walk, but it was so worth it because this place is really beautiful.Visited October 2023Traveled with friendsWritten November 10, 2023
- corinne lNew York City, New York108 contributionsBeautiful, but brace for the crowdsThis is a must see, however beautiful it is, it is difficult to enjoy because of the huge crowds. This place is big and took a long time to get through- in our case too long as it was the entire morning and our time was limited. It is very hot as well and legs and should must be covered. Elephant pants, hats, fans can be purchased cheaply from the shops across from the entrance.Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 14, 2023
- Milo UOkinawa City, Japan21 contributionsROyal PalaceA palace that makes quite an impression. There are a great number of temples and other buildings on the grounds. It would not be difficult to stay here for the entire day. It is recommended that you arrive shortly after it opens so you can find a spot. There is a strict policy against wearing shorts or shirts without sleeves.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 19, 2023
- ChuiMSingapore8 contributionsA tourist's delight!A place to be dazzled and amazed, from lavishly decorated interiors to grand hallways and staircases, this place is sure to take your breath away. The detailed reliefs and sculptures that adorn the walls and ceilings are simply incredible and will leave you in awe. I was so impressed by this place that I even took a few selfies just to make sure I captured my experience here!Visited November 2023Traveled on businessWritten November 20, 2023
- ClarkeSydney, Australia6 contributionsA monumental marvel!A majestic sight, from the elegant spires to the grand staircases, ornamental gardens and ornate spires, this palace is sure to leave you in awe. It's like a fairytale come to life! Just make sure to bring your camera because you won't want to miss a single moment of this grandiose experience.Visited November 2023Traveled on businessWritten December 3, 2023
- VeganMadeEasyGlen Ellyn, Illinois2,235 contributionsImpressiveWe took the ferry, 4.5 BHT per person to pay when you get off. From there it’s a short walk to the ticket office. Dress code is strictly enforced! Wrapping my legs with a cloth didn’t cut it. Men have to wear long pants. T- Shirt is ok. You can buy tickets on the website but the line wasn’t long. You can pay with credit card. The place is extremely crowded! Be sure to bring plenty of water!Visited December 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten December 29, 2023
- cldtxNew Braunfels, Texas60 contributionsBeautiful PalaceAbsolutely amazing! My husband and I visited on a weekend so it was very crowded. And hot. But we still had a great time looking at the Palace. We hired a guide before the visit and I felt it was worth it to get stories and information in English. Be aware of the dress code! I thought you just had to have shoulders and knees covered. I wore leggings under a skirt (but it was a miniskirt) and was told I would have to rent or buy a sarong in order to get in.Visited December 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten January 6, 2024
