Our visit to Wat Arun was marked by the intense heat and humidity typical of Bangkok, so be prepared with plenty of water, sunscreen, and perhaps a hat to keep cool. The temple itself is beautiful, but I didn’t expect how crowded it would be. One unique aspect of Wat Arun is the availability of photographers and traditional dresses for rent, allowing visitors to do a photoshoot. However, it seemed like everyone else had the same idea, which made the place feel more like a huge photoshoot event than a serene temple visit. This kind of ruins the mood if you're looking for a peaceful experience, so I would recommend skipping it if you're not into crowded tourist spots. On a positive note, the architecture of Wat Arun is absolutely amazing. The temple, also known as the Temple of Dawn, is renowned for its towering spires and intricate details. The central prang is beautifully adorned with colorful porcelain and seashells, which sparkle in the sunlight, creating a stunning visual effect. The craftsmanship and artistry that went into building Wat Arun are truly impressive and worth seeing. To beat the heat, make sure to try the exclusive Wat Arun ice cream. It’s not just eye candy but truly delicious, offering a refreshing treat after exploring the temple grounds. In summary, while Wat Arun is undoubtedly a beautiful and architecturally significant site, the overwhelming crowds and the photoshoot atmosphere might detract from the experience. If you decide to visit, come prepared for the heat and make sure to enjoy the delicious ice cream!

This temple is a must-visit if you are in Bangkok. It is a bit difficult to get there because there is no BTS, but you can go to the pier and take a boat, which is much cheaper. There are few attractions inside and it doesn't seem spacious, but the photo angles are nice. You can rent traditional costumes at the shops nearby. It is recommended to go there before 9am because after 9am there will be many tours and it will be crowded, making it difficult to take photos

We went early morning when it was quiet so enjoyed taking photos without lots of people in them. The decoration is fabulous on the buildings. The ticket includes a bottle of water and there are clean toilets, a cafe and places to buy snacks and 3D ice cream.

This is not one temple structure it is a complex of many structures. Entry 200 TBH You will need comfortable footwear to walk around as the steps are steep. If you want to avoid feeling like you are in a zoo go as soon as it opens up. After that it like a glamour hub. Where every place and corner is taken over by people and photographer for photo shoots. Thanks to the Thai dress rental shops outside. If you want to do the photo shoot, my recommendation is carry some comfortable sandals as the ones you get at the rental will test your patience and stamina. 150 tbh for dress rental. The glimpse of the temple against the setting sun is beautiful. For that you need to be on the other side of river (towards where grand place is located) during sunset. Enjoy the views for free.

Was told that this was a must see in Bangkok but was somewhat underwhelmed. The price per person has recently increased from 100 baht to 200 baht and I am not sure that this increase is justifiable. Be aware that the whole site is crawling with people in traditional Thai dress getting portraits taken and whilst this may seem like a good thing to see we found some of the photographs and subjects were some what aggressive if we happened to be standing where they wanted to pose. The highlight of the visit was the rehearsal for the King's River Parade with a number of large and ornately decorated dragons boats rowing down the river with atmospheric chanting. This happens every Thursday afternoon until the end of October and the temple makes an ideal viewing spot for this

The climb to the top offered breathtaking views of Bangkok, making it a memorable experience for our family. Wat Arun is a must-visit for anyone seeking to explore the rich cultural heritage of Thailand.

Wat Arun remains one of the prettiest temples in Bangkok. It's definitely a place tourists should go to. The main temple is magnificent. The side temple is also great. If you can, go in the afternoon, have dinner in across the river, then catch the view of the temple at night when it is lighted. Certainly Instagrammable. What was annoying about the trip this year was that there were so many people who rent costumes and have their pictures taken around the temple. Apparently, there was a hit show recently and Wat Arun was a location for shooting. Now lots of visitors try to mimic the show. It's particularly irritating on the second level of them temple where there really is only one lane between landings so you have to stop and wait for them to finish taking their photos (some even sit on the ledge to have their pictures taken). Good for business, I suppose because it draws a lot of people but makes the place that much less sacred. Maybe the management should consider prohibiting picture taking with costumes on the second level. Still worth visiting though.

Although I waited for while to visit Wat Arun, I'm happy that I was able to make time to share my experience with a childhood friend. There is so much to take in here. The ground are quite expansive and the buildings too numerous to list. It is best to look at my photos since a picture is worth a thousand words. We arrived early in the day to avoid the heat since there is not a lot of shade to protect you from the searing sun. There are drinks and ice blocks available to cool give you a respite while waiting for your return boat to your point of departure.

During my stay in Bangkok, I had the opportunity to visit this Buddhist temple, which was the first one on my list. Despite the holiday crowds, I was immediately drawn to the ancient style buildings that make up the temple complex. Although the closing time is a bit early, I highly recommend making the effort to visit this beautiful and historic site.

It is located along the Chao Phraya River opposite the Royal Palace. It is accessed from the boat dock near Wat Pho. The entrance fee was 100 Baht and they gave me a small mineral water at room temperature. It is nice to see the detailed decoration when you look closely, but it is also cool to see the whole thing from the other side.
