    Fantastic views of the city
We found the staircase to reach the fort only a few blocks after crossing the Danube River bridge. The 214 steps to climb to the top were not as challenging as it sounds since many of them are not especially tall. The view from the top near the clock tower makes the climb worthwhile along with the admission price (free). You can walk around the upper level of the fortress, but the best views are along the portions of the walls that tower above the Danube.

The main attraction of Novi Sad.
Beautiful atmospheric place. The fort was built in the 18th century, despite this in good condition. It can be reached on foot from the old town as well as by train, admission is free. The fort is big, you can spend all day here. A beautiful clock that shows different times is a symbol of the city. There are magical views of the Danube River. There are several restaurants on site where you can eat and enjoy the views. And also a gift shop. It's a great place to take a leisurely walk. A visit is mandatory.

Worth a visit, but watch out for missing plank on the wooden bridge. Use the coffee shop toilet rather than the user-pay toilet.
Beautiful fortress with a view to the city of Novi Sad and the river Danube. The walk to the fortress is quite steep, not accessible right to the top by the tourist bus, but accessible by car. Several cafes and souvenir kiosks. Maintenance is a problem. The wooden bridge leading into the fortress has a piece of plank missing. I accidentally tripped and, fortunately, did not break my ankle. The toilet charges 50 cents euro per person but has NO LIGHT and NO toilet paper.

Nice walk up to the fort
On a Grand Circle River boat cruse to the Black sea. Walked across the bridge next to our boat and climbed into a 1692 Hasburg fortification / citadel / protective for the city = A keep) for towns people to retreat to during an invasion way back then. The Keep was built on a old the Roman fortification that once existed at this point and the city laid out below it. There is no Arment (cannons) remaining at the fort (all a long time ago recycled into scrap), but there are a massive number of underground passageways.

This creative work shop is a kind of expedition in which the consumers “dive’ into the underground of fortress Petrovaradin. You`ll experience the 300 years old underground, smell the soil and clay, inhale dust and spirits of ancient warriors. You will hear the hearth beats of those close to you and you will touch the walls of one of the most beautiful master pieces of fortifications. We are going to an adventure which is a creative workshop of the association “3D World – UGRIP” who is exploring the underground and struggling for its preservation. Ahead of us lie more than 30 kilometers of tunnels of which only 900 meters are officially explored. The maize of the tunnels is shaped in four levels of defense with more than 10 floors of galleries one beneath the other. If you heard about the stories of dragon who is feasting with curious tourists and treasure hunters, about hidden nazi train, about the tunnel beneath the Danube river, about the tiger ...
