Fun & informative day with friends
We were with 4 adults and had a great day. We learned a lot about how people in Sweden lived in the 17th & 18th century. It was very pleasant to walk around the meandering paths and see the animals and there were well priced snacks/lunch like burgers and hot dogs and drinks like coffee, hot chocolate and warm wine. We had a really enjoyable day. And if you have kids you should definitely go. It was a kid’s heaven: animals, playgrounds and lots of space to run around.

    Bigger than expected
I didn't research this before heading in. I think i was in the off season because some things inside were not open etc. Pleasantly surprised to have nordic animals/zoo inside. Wished i came a week later for winter lights or earlier in season to see all of the things open.

    Great place!
I have been to Skansen in the end of October and it was amazing. The area of the Skansen is enormous, so if you are going to visit it, be prepared to spend there at leats 2-3 hours. Skansen also has a great ZOO. Atmophere there in October is just special.

    Autumn colour
Skansen is no doubt best visited in the warmer months when all the attractions and eateries are open. But even on a cold wet day in October it was still a pleasure to walk around this open air museum and zoo. And the upside in visiting at this time, is the riot of autumn colour which looks so beautiful set against the historic buildings and city backdrop. Most of the buildings (which include workshops, homes and shops) are original and each has a sign board out front explaining where it originated and how it fits into Swedish social history. We enjoyed seeing animals native to Sweden including brown bears, reindeer, a lynx and wolverine. The tea shop we visited was charming and the gift shop was great.

Awesome! A must! Best thing to do!!!
Absolutely amazing place, a must for Stockholm. A wide range of activities from visiting and seeing how people lived, cooked, animals, gardens, food, views, zoo, aquarium, feeding animals. We came two times and stood 4 and 5 hours respectively. We do not think the 1-2 hour visit suggestion is realistic unless you chose something to see only.

    Swedish Christmas
We spent about 4-5 hours here on a snowy December day. The whole place felt a little run down but we enjoyed the authentic Swedish vibe. The Christmas market was pretty, everything is expensive (but that’s Stockholm!) but we managed to have some glogg and a few interesting Swedish delicacies which was fun. We enjoyed the Nordic animal exhibit - we saw moose, a snow fox and reindeer amongst others. The music and dancing around the tree was fun to watch and the little fires to sit around and warm up were pretty and felt very Swedish.

Amazed this doesn’t rank higher on tripadvisor, great place to visit, highly recommend for a day out.
Visited for the Christmas market, however really enjoyed looking around the whole site which was photogenic in the snow. Wished I’d allowed more time for the visit. Also had good views of the city, a chance to see reindeer and moose, listen to traditional music and see traditional Swedish dancing, make candles, and try lots of things at the market.

    Lovely Walk Around
Came here on our first morning in Stockholm. We had a lovely walk around, visiting the different traditional buildings and speaking to the workers. We had an in depth conversation with the carpenter in the furniture factory about the different types of veneer he uses to craft his masterpieces. We watched the boys hard at work making and blowing glass. We also had a hot chocolate by the outdoor fire which was a lovely moment. A highlight was seeing the reindeer, moose, wild boar and lynx in the snow. It was a shame the brown bear was in hibernation, but these things can't be helped. An interesting place.

    Winter Lights + short visit
We visited in December, but unfortunately missed the Christmas market. We bought tickets ahead of time for the Winter Lights at an early time, paired with admission to Skansen in general. We got there later than planned, but Skansen was still open - however we couldn't scan our tickets to get in, we had to wait in line at the 1 open window for admission which was odd. We walked back to see the Nordic animals which was very cool. There were two stores open on our walk there, but closed by the time we walked back for Winter Lights. Winter Lights was very cool! The music and the lights were great. There was a couple booths at the start and then throughout the walk - but they were all the exact same things offered, so you only need to look at one of them. Great that the big Skansen gift shop was still open when we left!

    Totally Worth It
We spent almost the whole day here. From the Xmas lights to the beautiful art performance, everything is interesting. And we finished with the hot dog, eating around an outdoor firepit. Wish we were here in a sunny and warm day, maybe we will be back in summer.
