- Hany GEgypt2,078 contributionsAlot of stairs!Around 6 pm, the church itself was closed, but i was able to get a ticket to climb the tower. It was not an easy climb, and you have to be kind of fit to climb it with it spiral wooden stairs. The view from the top was amazing and worth the climbing.Visited February 2024Traveled soloWritten February 18, 2024
- AyselIzmir, Türkiye12 contributionsIt was so beautifulIt has a magnificent view, you should definitely go up to the top. When we went, the church was closed due to the funeral and we could only go up to the tower. Don't forget to make a reservation, you may have to come back and go again.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 17, 2024
- Navigator6631201 contributionVery vivid impressionsMy husband and I were there, but he didn't dare climb the spiral outdoor staircase (angrily). And I had enough adrenaline. It was a rainy and windy day. The steps are metal and slippery. The railings are quite high, but towards the very top they disappear. The thrill was added by a visitor, a young guy who came down from the very last step, pressing himself against the wall. And I stood on the outside and there was almost no railing. It was very exciting and unforgettable. The view of the city is beautiful, but on adrenaline, in the rain and wind on a slippery step without railings, the impressions were difficult. Be sure to get up, the memories will last a long time..Visited June 2023Traveled soloWritten May 3, 2024
- Susan MillsAdelaide, Australia1,111 contributionsAchievement worth the fearI have a fear of heights & really wasn't sure I would make it to the top, especially on the outside of the building!! There are 400 steps, the last 150 are outside, with many steep sections to climb. Once outdoors there is an area to take in the view before the next part of the climb begins. It was a great sense of accomplishment to be at the very top, equally so to be back on the ground. I found everyone who was there was encouraging everyone else to keep going, it was lovely to see so many strangers being so kind. I recommend booking if you can as it's very busy however, you can book there via a QR code displayed out the front. This allows you to see times & availability. Our first afternoon visit saw the wait about an hour so we left however, we arrived at 9.40am next morning & were able to book for 10am. Conquer your fears if you can as it is so worth it.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 12, 2024
- Aimee RInverness, United Kingdom31 contributionsWorth the photo opportunity!Book your tickets/time slot online in advance - it’s the only way you’ll get in. The tower was beautiful and though there were some slanted ladders as well as steps, I wouldn’t say it was difficult to climb. There’s a cute informative video in one room and panels to read in the bell room. As you can see from the photos, it’s totally worth the 30-minute time it takes!Visited May 2024Traveled with friendsWritten May 23, 2024
- Geoff DMississauga, Canada106 contributionsWorth it for the good viewsI wish I was fitter and thought this would be a little hard but it really wasn't and was surprised to hear there are 400 or so steps afterwards. Spent most of my time waiting to get to the top which I really couldn’t fit into anyway. The views are excellent and worth the small effort. If you are afraid of heights I could see this being a bit of a challengeVisited June 2024Traveled soloWritten June 4, 2024
- pbarrancLa Seyne-sur-Mer, France207 contributions400 steps to climb to the top - superb view of CopenhagenYou can visit the "real" church, but not at any time (it seems to me that it closes at 4pm). Nothing special about this church. What's interesting is going upstairs. Of course you have to pay for admission (included in the Copenhagen Card), and since it is very narrow in many places, you have to register online for a time slot (scan a QR code). Then it went for 400 steps, very steep at times paying attention to his head with the beams very "apparent";-). We start inside the tower, to arrive at the intermediate platform, on which we already have a superb circular view of the whole city. Then there are external steps with a railing of course. On the other hand, at the top, the steps are really very narrow, and if it rains and you have a small backpack, I can assure you that we are not being smart!!!Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 21, 2024
- ScotsJimmy113 contributionsAbsolutely worth itWe nearly didn't do this as we had other things we wanted to do but I am so glad we spent the time. The climb up the external of the spire is great but to be honest the best part was the climb through the internal of the church through the bell rooms etc. You can feel the history of the building as you climb through the architecture. It really was a bit magical. I suspect they will stop people going up eventually to preserve the wooden ladders, floors etc. so get in there before they do!Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 23, 2024
- JernejaSlovenia191 contributionsAmazing view of the whole cityAmazing views and I definitely recommend when visiting Copenhagen. Get the tickets in advance as they sell out. The way up is quite long as there are 400 stairs and if you’re scared of heights this isn’t for you as there is just a railing and narrow stairs. But despite being tired when you get to the top, it is worth it because you see the whole of Copenhagen.Visited August 2024Traveled soloWritten August 16, 2024
- John H25 contributionsA must do while in Copenhagen 10/10I am not a fan of heights so this was a bit scary at first but you adapt quickly and handrails are very secure. The payoff is the most amazing view in Copenhagen. A must see. Reserve your time slot beforehand and highly recommend the Copenhagen Card if you will be doing a fee different attractions. It takes about 10 minutes to traverse the interior steps up to the first outside circular platform (there are some narrow ladder steps in this part so if you have stair climbing issues, you might want to reconsider). Then another 10 minutes or so to walk up the circular steps to the top as there is not room for more than 1-2 people so sometimes there is a minor wait as you go to the top.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 25, 2024

- Nyhavn HotelsCopenhagen's Nyhaven, or "New Harbor," is actually steeped in a long heritage. Colorful buildings line the canal and hint at a history of small-vessel traffic. Like many ports, this strip has a salty history, rich with sailors, drinking and literary exploits. Danish author Hans Christian Andersen made his home in Nyhavn as well. It's cleaned up now and is a lovely place for a stroll.Read more

- The Round Tower HotelsThe Round Tower Lookout Tower – Observatory – Exhibitions – Concerts. One of the best-known and most popular structures in Denmark, the Round Tower has been a distinctive feature of the Copenhagen skyline since 1642. The Tower once soared far above the rest of the rooftops in the city, and University astronomers studied the stars and planets from the Observatory at the top. The scholars may have forsaken the building a long time ago, but during the winter visitors are still able to gaze at the cosmos from Europe's oldest functioning observatory. The platform that runs around the outside of the Observatory affords views over the old Latin Quarter – from here, you can spot most of the city's famous buildings. The Round Tower does not have an elevator, so visitors have to climb the winding, white-washed Spiral Walk, where kids often hide in the niches, only to jump out shouting “boo!” as adults approach. Halfway up the tower is the entrance to the large and stunningly beautiful Library Hall, which now serves as a popular gallery and concert venue. It hosts several exhibitions a year, and stages concerts almost every week. Above the Library is the Bell Loft, notable for its enormous wooden beams, which were used in the reconstruction of the Tower following the great fire of Copenhagen in 1728. The Loft is also home to a small exhibition of fascinating artefacts from the Tower's history, including Christian IV's wax seal, a tin of medicine produced by Tycho Brahe, and a piece of the bomb that exploded in the Library Hall during the bombardment of Copenhagen in 1807.The Round Tower was built by Christian IV between 1637 and 1642. It was the first part of the Trinitatis Complex, which combined church, library and observatory in a single building.Read more
- Christiania HotelsThis hippy enclave and alternative community in the heart of Copenhagen is home to many artists and artisans. Here, you can wonder at colorful street art all around, and stop by cozy cafes for some top-notch craft beers. Enjoy the area’s bohemian vibes as you hunt for offbeat handicrafts, and go for a walk around the lake or stroll down the infamous Pusher Street—where you’ll be required to put your camera away. During warmer months, this neighborhood is a great spot for some outdoor, waterside fun. Christiania is more welcoming to travelers during the day. – TripadvisorRead more
- Christiansborg Slot HotelsChristiansborg Palace is situated on the little island of Slotsholmen (Castle Island) which is surrounded by canals in the heart of Denmark's capital, Copenhagen. Denmark has one of the oldest monarchies in the world, and the palace has a long, dramatic history which revolves around the exercise of royal power. Today, Denmark is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system of governance. Under its beautiful copper roof, the palace houses the Danish parliament, the office of the Danish prime minister and the Supreme Court. It is therefore the center for legislative, executive and judicial power in Denmark. The palace also accommodates rooms for the Danish Monarchy. Focusing on the royal part of the palace, Christiansborg Palace is H.M. the Queen's working palace. This is where the Queen holds audiences, signs laws, holds banquets and receptions, celebrates royal anniversaries and receives state visits. It is a working palace where old traditions and the modern Royal Family meet. You will see dazzling halls, adorned with colorful tapestries, vast paintings, patterned floors, glittering chandeliers, and sumptuous stucco ceilings. You can explore The Royal Kitchen and see its two tons of shiny copper kitchenware. You can visit the beautiful palace chapel, stand underneath its dome and let your head spin as you gaze up at the angels in the ceiling décor more than 30 metres above you. In The Royal Stables you'll find the the white royal horses in the wintertime, and in the summertime the exhibition "All the kings' horses" - all year around you can see the Royal Family's array of carriages. One of them is coated with 24-carat gold leaf. You can also explore the underground ruins underneath Christiansborg Palace. These are ruins of earlier castles and palaces showing that the Castle Island is steeped in 800 years of power and political intrigue.Read more
