    Breathtaking work of art
The Trevi Fountain should be on everyone's bucket list! It looks beautiful in photos but it's nothing compared to walking down a narrow cobblestone road into the open piazza and seeing the fountain in all its striking beauty. Go early in the morning as it gets insanely busy throughout the day. An absolute must see in Rome!

    Busy busy busy
We visited in October when it was very hot still, 30’c. My partner doesn’t do hot hot so that combined with the amount of people at a busy lunch time was not a good idea. Go early if you want to avoid the crowds. And watch your pockets and bags! Lots of people about so you can still get your photo, just be patient and offer other people and ask them the same in return. Don’t forget your coins… more I think it was 2 for a relationship, three for a wedding and four for wealth. Over your right shoulder !

    Completely memorizing
A must see go early in the morning or after 9 at night. Place is packed. NYC subway as rush hour. A lot of pick pockets here and scammers. Watch everything. At night or early morning it is fine. Beautiful work over 300 years old. Close to Pantheon and Spanish steps. More most sees

Photo opportunity with thousands of others
My wife and I visited the Trevi Fountain during a recent trip to Rome following a Viking Ocean Cruise. The place was packed with thousands of tourists. The previous time we visited the fountain, we were there early on a weekday morning and it was raining. There were very few people that time. It was much more enjoyable on the first trip. We were even able to throw a coin in the fountain on that first trip.

Excellent tourist spot, very beautiful. A must-visit at any time of the day or night. Make your way through the crowds of tourists and head to the edge of the fountain for better photos. On the left side there is a small fountain for drinking water.

Wow. Fantastic fountain though incredibly busy all the time. Looks great on a night lite up. There is a Benetton shop directly across it pop in and go upstairs and you get great photos above the crowds

    Memories Forever!
Trevi is an amazing place to visit and make your special wish with your loved one! Recommend you come early in the morning as it becomes very crowded! Must see into the evening when they light up the fountain! Don’t forget that it’s closed on Monday morning so they can gather all of the coins 🪙

Looks awesome but probably one of the most crowded places ever
Too crowded. Yes it looks nice, but you literally cannot walk. So many people all the time. Walking around we got to see it 4-5 times, daytime, nighttime, yes it looks awesome, but man there are so many people around

    Spectacular as always
This was my 3rd visit to the trevi fountain and its still spectacular as ever. This time we visited late at night as previously we experienced packed crowds, where you can't actually move. It's well worth going later on or very early in the morning if you can. This is obviously the most famous fountain in Rome, but there is many other beautiful fountains all over Rome which are worth checking out too!

    An obligatory stop in Rome
From a tourist perspective, this seems almost an obligatory stop on the Rome itinerary. We visited on our first afternoon, actually as our first stop after leaving the hotel. We were there in the early afternoon, probably at or before 1 p.m. on a Sunday. The light was still good for photos, with the façade behind the fountain in full sunlight. The fountain is located in a small plaza fed by multiple small streets. It opens up with some space on 3 sides of the fountain, with the 4th side bounded by a building full of sculptures from which the water flows. There are also sloped 'stadium' stone seating facing the fountain's pool. When we visited, the seating was almost fully occupied. A lot of people's aim seemed to be to get close to the pool in order do accomplish the traditional toss-a-coin-in thing. It appeared that you had to work your way down there, as there was a continual flow of people seeking to toss coins and take selfies. It was crowded enough up at the top rim of the seating along the streets. We opted to do our sightseeing and photos from up there and avoid additional crowding. I don't know what crowding is like at other times, or if there is any point where you can come here with less crowding. We didn't return during the remainder of our trip. Another point I'll make is that we were here in a less crowded time of year, so I can only imagine that crowds in July or August are even more impressive. The fountains are pretty and it is part of the Rome experience to stop by. Just don't expect a leisurely or relaxed visit.
