    Guide Cira the best
The guide Cira made us discover the beauties of this Castle. Excellent guide, to be recommended for visiting the Castle. We experienced the history and images of that time with the detailed description of the details on the materials used and the passages of the various historical periods. Congratulations to Cira, expert and friendly archaeologist.

    Simply EXCELLENT.
Today, March 20, 2024, my wife and I had the honor of visiting the castle with one of the best guides we have ever encountered. I am referring to the archaeologist CIRA... Extremely well prepared and with her ironic way of explaining she manages to make the visit even more engaging. Simply EXCELLENT. Giorgio and Milvia (Vicenza).

    Nice visit!
The visit overall was of high quality. Clear and in-depth explanations; The guides (Francesco and Samy) were very competent, nice and friendly. Punctuality of the visit time which is well structured. The only flaw: the lift that takes you to the terraces cannot be used by visitors, there are many stairs to climb. If you are in Naples it is a must-do stop.

The guided tour was excellent, except for the rest
Very well organized guided tour. Valeria, the guide, decidedly good, competent, friendly with children and gifted with splendid wit. It would be 6 dots/stars just for her. It's a shame, however, that in addition, and it doesn't depend on the guide, there is a lot of work to do: toilets without paper, electric hand dryers not working, elevators for the ascent to the disused stands. #comunedinapoli there is a lot to do. In any case, a highly recommended guided tour

Absolutely recommended for the whole family!
The site is beautiful. I had seen in advance with an internet search what to expect and what to see. But it was actually much better. With 2 tickets (one for €6 and the other for €10) we visited everything. The museum, the prisons, the hall of the king and the barons. Plus the terrace above the towers with a view of Naples and the port. And if that's not enough, the guide is included. A very good boy, Francesco, explained the castle to us with competence and kindness. Lots of history and lots of anecdotes. I highly recommend it, so much so that even my 9 year old son was interested and was very happy and my wife who wasn't very happy about visiting it had to totally change her mind! We were coming from a cruise and as we disembarked in the port in a few minutes we arrived at the castle and visited it. You must book online for the visit time on the municipal website.

    It's just the exterior...
A weekend in Naples, booked a long time in advance, to visit this stone giant, there is no point in booking and choosing the time of the visit, since on site you have to queue all over again and in vain. They offer us a guided tour and it's the only thing we like, making this walk less monotonous. We expected something more to see and if it wasn't for the museum, it would have been a bit of a disappointment. To know...

    Beautiful beautiful beautiful!
Beautiful visit, involving our guide, a blonde girl whose name I don't remember but who made the tour through the dungeons, royal rooms, stories, historical notes and legend very interesting. Highly recommended. 👍 for the crocodile 😉

Impressive looking castle on the outside
You will notice the turrets of this imposing structure as you approach Naples by sea. It also looks good on all sides. But the inside was a disappointment. Most of the rooms are just empty. Up on the roof you can see Molo Beverello, the ferry terminal, and up on the hill, you can see Castel Sant'Elmo with San Martino Monastery and Musuem in front. The views are nice but not spectacular. At the time we visited there were construction work around the castle making it difficult to access the castle from certain areas.

Opt for the guided tour or admire it from outside
The guided tour definitely elevated the experience, our guide was very kind and engaging. However, I found the ticket price (16€) a little high for what we saw. I absolutely do not recommend the do-it-yourself tour of the limited areas for 6 euros because it is almost useless, rather opt for the guide.

Interesting, but done in a couple of hours
Paid extra to do the guided tour which let us into some extra areas and that was very interesting. Able to wander around the castle unattended after that. Some areas closed off due to a stream of weddings being held there (saw 3 brides during the visit). Nice views over the city and out to sea from the upper floor. No cafe.

  • Underground Naples Hotels
Check out a different side of Naples—think: an extensive labyrinth of tunnels that snake underneath the entire old town. Underground Naples offers a fascinating combination of caves, galleries, and passages 131 feet below the ground. Follow the official Napoli Sottrerranea route, which will bring you to the Roman Theater and the Greek-Roman aqueduct, or join a separate tour to visit the Galleria Borbonica which used to be a tunnel intended for the then King of Naples to flee if intended. It's highly recommended to pre-book skip-the-line tickets online to avoid long lines at the entrance. – Tripadvisor

Enchanting scenery that unfolds to the eyes of visitors, a secret place full of history and magic atmosphere. An emotional journey that conducts visitors in the new section of the underground of Naples. It is situated in Vico del Grottone 4, from to 150 mt. to Plebiscito Square. Until a few years ago it wasa veterinary laboratory, now is the entrance of the Bourbon Tunnel. A staircase with 8 ramps, 33 yards deep descending into the belly of Chiaia. The second entry is in Via Domenico Morelli,40, through the crosswalk of “Quick parking”.The Tunnel was built in 1853 by Ferdinand II of Bourbon, who, concerned about the outbreak of rebellion, he asked for an escape from the Royal Palace to the barrack in Via della Pace, now Via Morelli. The work was uncompleted and, during the second World War, was used by residents of the area as a military hospital, later becoming the Hall Judicial Deposit. The war left its mark even in the subsoil. That’s way there are handwrite, folding beds, messages of wish and desolation of those who lived it and still maintains its memory. Along the tunnel thereare also the evidences, 530 meters, where visitors can discover the history of real life. Through the spacious streets, it’s easy reachable the network of tunnels and cisterns of seventeenth-century,large buildings, where worked the "pozzari", the only connoisseur of Naples underground. The show is stunning, but that's not finished. On Via Morelli appear statues dating back to fascist period and many cars and motorcycles, abandoned for years, freed from piles of rubbish, arranged and illuminated ad hoc for the route.Nothing is left to chance, even lighting, perfectly integrated with the path of the visitors.Since today everything is possible to visit. Five years ago the scenery was completely different.Rubbish, degradation, wastes of all kinds covered the reliquaries.

  • Teatro di San Carlo Hotels
The Teatro di San Carlo was designed by the architects Giovanni Antonio Medrano and Angelo Carasale for the monarch since Charles wanted a new and larger theatre for Naples to replace the old and dilapidated Teatro San Bartolomeo of 1621. On 12 February 1816 the San Carlo was destroyed by fire. The Theatre was re-designed by the architect Antonio Niccolini and rebuilt within ten months on order of King Ferdinand IV. In 1845 there was additional refurbishment and, by 1854, the theatre's interior appearance changed to the now-traditional red and gold. Now carefully restored to its former splendour, the San Carlo is the oldest working theatre in Europe.
