- Karim MaaroufCairo, Egypt891 contributionsWonderful street for shopping and architectureThis is a long and wonderful street. Lot's of shops including high end ones. Architectural highlights of the city such as Gaudi's casa ballo and la pedrera can also be found here.Visited November 2023Traveled with familyWritten November 18, 2023
- Sabrina C23 contributionsShopping and sightseeing locationThere are so many places to shop and eat here. The Casa Batillo and Casa Mila are here on the Passeig. Come to shop for all the luxury goods and see the sights. Bring a luggage with you to place your bags into though… and take a taxi back to your hotel if you shop… although relatively safe, be aware of your surroundings at all times.Visited January 2024Traveled with friendsWritten February 1, 2024
- Thomas VOakland, California17,709 contributionsPast Great ArchitectureIt's long and wide and an absolute must for the visitor. Along this lovely avenue you will find some of the most famous Modernista buildings, plus some elegant shopping. A Metro line runs underneath. It leads up hill to Gracia, my favorite neighborhood for the cool vibe. Cafes along the way.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 4, 2024
- joe-chicago-23Chesterfield, Missouri1,253 contributionsTourist friendlyThis street is a major upgrade from Las Ramblas. Plenty of high-end shops, lots of restaurants and major architectural finds. It has major transportation access by tourist and other buses, metro trains, and a train station that is much easier to use than Barcelona Sants.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 31, 2024
- Steve_of_N21London, United Kingdom3,285 contributionsGood, modern and clean, but give me the noise and excitement of the old town every day. This wide tree lined avenue is certainly worth taking the time to visit and if you are going to see either Gaudí's La Predrera or Casa Batlló then obviously you will. This street is basically the start of the new part of Barcelona and was a showcase for Barcelona's bourgeoisie at the turn of the 19th century. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries Barcelona was expanding and the new boulevard connected the old village of Gràcia with the new city centre. There are some very impressive buildings on this boulevard but today it also has a reputation for housing Barcelona's most prestigious shops and you will find Gucci, Tommy Hilfinger, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Zara and many more up market brands along its length. Now I am sure there are those that will find that proposition exciting, but I am someone that would rather see something unique to the city I am visiting and not what you can find in every other major city in the world. So once I had taken a look at the most impressive buildings I couldn’t wait to make it down back to the Gothic Quarter and the El Born district.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 3, 2024
- Raintree_ThailandBangkok, Thailand4,282 contributionsAvenue of flaunted opulence!Passeig de Gràcia is the street where the rich and richer sought to out-spend each other in the late 1890s. House after house and building after building compete for the most outlandish (and often ugly) presentation. The owners were often wealthy entrepreneurs returning to Spain (with their dubious wealth) after the loss of Spain's colonies in Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Philippines and elsewhere.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 16, 2024
- dg2014jgMagnolia, Texas1,201 contributionsLove this street. Best area to book a hotelYour best plan is to book a hotel in this area for your visit to Barcelona. The streets are lined with trees. The restaurants are very good. The shopping is wonderful. We can walk up and down, and there are benches scattered around to take a break. I love this street.Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 4, 2024
- lorons13Darwin, Australia38 contributionsCentral, friendly and well appointedThe room was beautiful with a small terrace overlooking the street below. The hotel is within walking distance of shopping, restaurants and transportation. The staff were very accommodating, knowledgeable and always smiling. There are some nice cafes to the right as you leave the front door and Attractions such as La Rambla, Gothic Quarters are an easy walk. It was real hot when we were there but cooler weather would make for a more enjoyable experience.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 8, 2024
