THE 10 CLOSEST Hotels to Las Ramblas, Barcelona
Hotels near Las Ramblas
This pedestrian-only street is a rite of passage for first-time travelers in Barcelona. Starting from Plaça de Catalunya, amble along the boulevard where you'll find food kiosks and spot famed attractions like the Gran Teatre del Liceu theater, the Palau de la Virreina Palace, and La Boquería market—the city’s famous marketplace. Entertainment is plenty too thanks to the human statues and caricature artists, amidst other wacky street performers. If you’re not planning to shop, enjoy a jug of sangria at any of the tapas bars and people-watch away. Besides joining city tours, Barcelona’s hop-on hop-off bus is another great way to get here. – Tripadvisor

- TheLeongOhanaUnited States7,745 contributionsNothing SpecialWe wandered Las Ramblas in the evening and most of what we saw and remembered were the cafes and tents setup along the main drag. We were not interested in the expensive food or fancy drinks and just kept walking by. The crowds were quite thin that January evening which was nice allowing us to wander at our leisure. We mostly stuck to the center of Las Ramblas to see the most as we walked from one end to the other. The Joan Miro Mosaic outside the Liceau station was the best feature with its bright colors and abstract design. The Boqueria Market was also located along Las Ramblas and we popped in for a snack but were not interested with most of the offerings inside. Overall we preferred and spent most of our time in old quarter versus Las Ramblas.Visited January 2024Traveled with familyWritten February 15, 2024
- Anna MariaRome, Italy628 contributionslas ramblasLas Ramblas is a beautiful street full of local shops, bars, where you can walk at all hours, always crowded. Along the street there are kiosks, street vendors, mimes, and musicians. This famous avenue in Barcelona begins near Plaza de Catalunya and ends at the foot of the marvelous statue of Christopher Columbus.Visited December 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten February 16, 2024
- Anima JBerlin, Germany6 contributionsBetter to go in winterPersonally, I love these busy streets. We were here in December, however, so the crowds were limited. That's my tip too: If you don't really want to jump into the sea while visiting the city, it's better to go in the colder months, as it's not as crowded and you can see more. The sun shines there almost all the time anyway :)Visited December 2023Traveled with friendsWritten February 26, 2024
- Jean TBathgate, United Kingdom7 contributionsMy favourite cityLast August I made trip number 10 to Barcelona . I love the city ! It’s ambience, the architecture, the tapas bars and of course people watching . On my last few trips I’ve stayed in a hotel right on La Rambla , and I can thoroughly recommend it . In Barcelona you don’t need 5* luxury as you’re only in the hotel to sleep . You need cleanliness, air conditioning, a good shower and a central locationVisited August 2023Traveled with familyWritten March 15, 2024
- Jay BFairhope, Alabama1,116 contributionsLove Las Ramblas! What a fun thing to do in Barcelona! Las Ramblas is a blocks-long, South to North, pedestrian only boulevard through the heart of vibrant Barcelona. You will so enjoy this! Start at either end (we started on the South end) and just "ramble" along with the many locals and tourists. On both sides of Las Ramblas, you will see many shops, bars and restaurants, as well as kiosks selling flowers and other locally produced wares. Enjoy as you wish, but know there are numerous benches and chairs where you can take a rest. If in Barcelona, this is a must do!Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten March 17, 2024
- Jools WYorkshire, United Kingdom75 contributionsOver priced and iver rated. Not our most favourite part of the city. We much preferred the little side streets and cafes/bars in the squares. Maybe that's just us? There were a few stalls selling the touristy stuff, over priced compared to other places. Quite busy in March so I'd hate to think what it's like in August!Visited March 2024Traveled with friendsWritten March 20, 2024
- Flavia MarcondesFlorianopolis, SC222 contributionsMust-visit in BarcelonaPromenade with several shops, flower shops, restaurants, theater and the famous Mercat Saint Joseph (better known as Lá Boqueria). A highly touristic spot, so be careful with bags and cell phones. It's very worth it. The promenade runs from Plaça Catalunya to Port Vell. A great walk.Visited November 2023Traveled soloWritten March 29, 2024
- Thomas VOakland, California19,103 contributionsCrowded Tourist StreetIt's a wide street running from the center of town through one of the very old quarters. Even though the street is wide with a big sidewalk down the center, it gets very crowded, mostly with tourists. Kiosks and buskers in the center. You can buy food, drink or souvenirs. Charming neighborhoods with deep history on either side. The Metro runs underneath.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 4, 2024
- Lisander DLippo, Italy4 contributionsPARTY ALL YEAR ROUNDLa Rambla is an exceptional street, full of life and joy, but on the other hand, what can you expect in a city like Barcelona which is a party every day of the year?! Here there is truly everything to experience a wonderful holiday, it goes from the city to the sea with our Christopher Columbus looking at the Indies. There are typical and less typical places, there is the Bouqueria market and next door there is Starbucks, which remains the best choice for an Italian looking for an espresso. Going up towards Paseig de Gracia you begin to come across Gaudi's houses such as Casa Battlò which can be visited or Pedreira which is inhabited and can only be admired from the outside.Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten April 10, 2024
- Family5GetAwaySt. John's, Canada329 contributionsNot enjoyable for us.Las Ramblas is considered a must-see by many, but it does not rank up there for me. We walked the street a number of times while in the City, the first time was to see what it was all about, but every other instance was simply because it was the most convenient route for us at the time. In the evenings the area is extremely crowded and it can be frustrating navigating all of the café tents, vendor kiosks, street performers and people milling about. Twice we had people try to put things in our hands as we walked, but hearing of such scams in advance we maneuvered around them while saying no. We read all of the warnings about being vigilant of pick pockets at this location and I could certainly see why it would be a prime area for it. We found the area much nicer earlier in the day, especially the mornings. Some people may love the energy of the area in the evenings, it was just not something we enjoyed.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 4, 2024
