To be honest, it was a bit disappointing
To be honest, it was a bit disappointing. I've climbed many a tower whilst on holiday and found this one a bit disappointing if I'm honest. It was a busy day so took about 35 minutes to get to the top. The views are OK although the bells are probably more interesting. I think I was hoping to see a bit more of the external roof structure but you can't as the maority of the windows are boarded up. Very easy access though as the entire tower is one slope - there are no steps. It's so they could use a donkey to get to the top - strange but true!

    Just do it
I tend to hate ancient towers to climb in Europe but this one is different- you must do it ! Instead of knee withering steps you get a smooth ramp to walk up which is surprisingly bearable. The crowds slow you down with many stops so we reached the top without breaking a sweat. The only steps are ten at the top - nice ! Great views and fun to be up there when the giant bells bong

    Nice bell tower
The best part about this bell tower is that it has ramps rather than stairs, so almost anyone can climb the 34 ramps to the top. There are also window alcoves on each level, so you can stop and take photos. The views from the top are obstructed by metal screens, but they are still great views! If you take the audio guide for the Catedral, the Giralda is one of the first stops, as it is directly inside the entrance.

    Very Nice
The Cathedral was nice but the tower was a bit better as you got a nice view of the city. Only issue is the climb. It isn't hard but very slow moving and lots of people/traffic. Otherwise we got timed tickets to go inside. We had no trouble getting into the tower and no line up but it seemed others did. The Cathedral was nice but there are nicer ones in Spain.

    Fabulous views, quite a climb
There are ramps in the 4 sides of the tower, you tramp up 30 odd of them to the top. I got my ticket along with my timed cathedral ticket. So, you do need a level of fitness, there are places to pause if you need it. The views are worth the effort, although I preferred the torre d'oro, because it's nearer the river.

Well worth the climb! Make sure you purchase the right ticket.
Worth the gentle cimb, depending on your pace with breaks along the way with extra view points, only a few steps at the end. It's well worth it as the views and building are fantastic. We were up there when the bells went off which made everyone jump and giggle. Make sure you add this to your purchase if you queue with tickets on the day. It opens at 11 and we were in a short queue at 10.20am but worth it as the queue builds up quickly if you haven't pre booked. The only disappointment is the lack of guidance from the Spanish assistants and their lack of direction. This tower is located within the cathedral. Make sure you don't leave before exiting.

    Easy walk and great views
This was a much easier walk than Duomo in Florence. There are ramps instead of stairs for many of the levels, so I was glad not to be huffing and puffing my way up and could keep pace with everyone else. The views from the top are amazing and definitely worth the climb!

    Repurposed minaret to bell tower!
The fabulous Giralda Tower was originally the minaret for the mosque built on this site. When the Christians reconquered Spain and built the current huge cathedral, they repurposed the beautiful tower to be used as the cathedral's bell tower. The tower stands 104 meters high.

Go early and beat the rush.
34 floors all linked by a series of slopes rather than stairs (until close to the top). The view from the top is stunning but you have to be quite clever in getting a picture through the mesh. Helpful member of staff who told us where to stand to see the mushroom.

The Barrio Santa Cruz used to be the Jewish quarter. The streets are narrow and form a labyrinth. It’s easy to get lost among the jasmine-scented streets… only to discover a convent or a palace or a hotel. Many of the palaces have wrought iron gates suitable for peeping into their beautiful patios. There are many small stores and some artisan shops, as well as good art galleries.

Beyond the Iberian peninsula most people are rather uncomfortable about bullfighting, which makes a visit to this venerable bullring with attached museums all the more fascinating – not least for those who would never consider attending a bullfight. An inspection of the ring, and the backstage facilities that sustain it (the Plaza, of necessity, has its own ER) is a good counterpoint to a browse around a museum which is full of artwork and costumes celebrating the skill of the matador together with the mounted heads of their animal nemeses. Go with an open mind and you’ll leave with a much better understanding of bullfighting’s place in the life and culture of Andalucía.

For a more authentic and decidedly less well-scrubbed experience, it’s worth crossing the river to explore this scruffy but vibrant old quarter, historically the centre of azulejo, or glazed-tile production. There are plenty of tapas bars for sustenance to sustain your ceramic shopping, and it’s fun to seek out the surviving corrales. These tiny buildings with flower-smothered courtyards once housed extended the gypsy families from which emerged Spain’s greatest flamenco dynasties.

Construction of this palace began in 1492. Today, part of the palace is a museum and is open to the public. There is a separate wing where the present Duchess of Medinaceli lives with her descendants and family. The palace has many gardens, patios, fountains, and salons. The patios contain many Roman statues. Everywhere on the first floor one will find Roman mosaic floors. The walls are covered with beautiful ceramic tile in many different Mudejar styles.
