I visited with 3 teenaged daughters and we loved every minute. Wear comfortable shoes and keep in mind the walk is somewhat uneven and with cobblestone paths, if traveling with someone that may be slightly more at risk of falls. Although still so much to enjoy on safer routes. The summer was a little warm water is recommended. Not a lot of vendors or kiosks of any kind that Americans are used to seeing (thankful they don’t have them here as it would spoil the experience) Architectural lovers will be so very pleased! The buildings and structures are phenomenal. Botanists and master gardeners goes without saying will be equally as thrilled. Plenty of space to run for the little ones, space on the ground to picnic with plenty of shade! YES dogs are welcome! We saw both on and off leash. No restrictions on bringing in food - which I recommend as the cafe was delicious however pricey and the menu was not child friendly. A beautiful place and I recommend it highly to all!

The English Garden of Munich belongs to the mandatory visits when one is on holiday in this city. Very large, clean, well maintained, it is a green lung of the resort, you can spend several hours inside without ever getting tired. Characteristic is the part where with the rapids of the river many practice surfing or rather make races and practice. Numero 1!!

Beautiful gardens right on the edge of the old town. Had a good playground for the kids.The surfers at the Einbach wave were amazing! We went to the cafe/restaurant which feels like an overpriced tourist trap that we walked right in to!

I am from Toronto and I would give my left (leg) for our city to have a place like this. Huge park, free and centrally located with fields, gardens, paths, lookouts, lakes, rivers, beer gardens. We only saw the south half and even that was huge. Plenty of space at the Chinesischer Turm. There are also other beer gardens like the Seehaus a bit further, which is nice because it overlooks the lake.

We usually do city tours while on holidaying in cities. but couldn't arrange for one this time for our trip to Munich. but we had seen this place in top places to visit here... and decided to go for it. No regrets. we went during sunset. the colors were brilliant. the October weather was great. it will be nice if you can cycle around the park as I found that better than walking. A great place to chill and relax. only few minutes away from the city hustle.

We enjoyed spending some time walking through the English Garden. We parked in the garage at the Hilton Munchen Park, which I highly recommend, and then walked through the park, seeing the Chinese Tower, Greek Temple Monopteros, and Japanese Teagarden, not to mention lots of people playing volleyball and frisbee and otherwise soaking up the sun. We could have spent even more time here, as it is a lovely activity on a pleasant day.

The English Garden in Munich is a green oasis in the middle of the city. With its extensive meadows, shady paths and idyllic lakes, it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy. An absolute must in Munich!

We came because we heard that it was fun to watch the surfers. We only saw a small part of the park but it was great. The surfers drew a great crowd and we enjoyed sitting on the edge of the river with our feet in. Highly recommend

A corner of paradise in the center of Munich. We did it all on foot (2-3 hours relaxing) with lunch stops, playground, ducks etc. Very well looked after and varied in the environments, easy to arrive by public transport. Absolutely worth seeing both alone and with children: it offers a lot, from the playground to the immense lawns for relaxing and having picnics.

We took a morning run to explore this huge, lovely garden. There are lots of paths crisscrossing the garden and there is always a nice view across a meadow or along the river. It is fun to stop and watch the surfers on the Eisbachwelle. Then grab a bite to eat by the Chinese Pagoda.
