This massive rock towering over Edinburgh is the setting for Edinburgh Castle and serves as one of the most defining symbols of Scottish history.

Cramond Foreshore is set on the stunning NW of Edinburgh, 3 miles from City Centre. The extensive coastal path extends from mouth of The River Almond in the west by historic Roman village of Cramond, out to Cramond Island tidal causeway and beautiful beach sands towards Granton Harbour in the east. Ideal for exploring nature, cycling, walking, running, family day out, kids, sports, dogs, birds.

Edinburgh's Swanston Farm dates back to around AD1214 and nestles into the base of Caerketton Hill, one of the most striking peaks in the Pentland Hills Regional Park, just 6 miles of Edinburgh City Centre. Swanston Farm is a mere 20 minute bus journey from Princes Street and Edinburgh Castle, offering a fantastic rural environment to locals, visitors and tourists alike. Swanston Farm includes 6 beautiful self-catering holiday cottages, its own restaurant (Swanston Brasserie) and business lets. Swanston Farm is not a petting farm, so we don’t have animals contained in visitor-attraction-style pens, however we do own a fold of Highland Cows and a tribe of rare breed goats, which we use for Conservation Grazing to help us manage the land. Visitors are welcome to come and see our Highland Cows - no need to book, we don't have closing hours and there is no charge.

Edinburgh Castle is a world famous icon of Scotland and part of the Old and New Towns of Edinburgh’s World Heritage Site. It was recently voted top UK Heritage Attraction in the British Travel Awards and is Scotland’s number one paid-for tourist attraction. This most famous of Scottish castles has a complex building history. The oldest part, St Margaret's Chapel, dates from the 12th century; the Great Hall was erected by James IV around 1510; the Half Moon Battery by the Regent Morton in the late 16th century; and the Scottish National War Memorial after the First World War. The castle houses the Honours (Crown Jewels) of Scotland, the famous 15th century gun Mons Meg, the One O' Clock Gun and the National War Museum of Scotland. Please note that the "Honours of the Kingdom Exhibition" is currently closed for essential maintenance works. The Crown Room and Jewels are open to visitors.
