Ireland's third-largest city began life as an island and now spans both banks of the River Lee, with watery channels running beneath some of its main thoroughfares. Along the way, you'll meet plenty of the city's talkative residents.

Atlanta has been dubbed everything from the "capital of the new South" and "the next international city" to "the best place to do business." It's also a great place to visit. Stayed as a treat but will 100%be back. It is very luxurious classic and clean. Rooms are amazing we were lucky to be upgraded to a room with a balcony and garden view. Bed pillows etc all top quality. Staff were extremely friendly Sean to great us was also a top class touch. Our room was ready early at 12 o’clock which was 4 hours earlier than expected. Breakfast was amazing from quality of food to room vies and decor. One small improvement is speed of bar staff this maybe related to being very busy. Great location. Can’t wait to come back and try the spa.
Thank you Yvonne for reviewing your recent experience here with us at the Great Southern. We are so thrilled you got to enjoy our gem of a hotel here in the heart of Killarney along with its luxurious facilities and soft furnishings. And of course stopping for a chat with Sean at the door. We appreciate your beautiful feedback on our breakfast offerings and constructive feedback on Brownes bistro. We look forward to welcoming you back for some pampering and luxury

We had a fantastic overnight stay, and went to The Fureys in the Gleneagle Ballroom. Afterwards we went to the Backstage Bar for more live trad music, and to cap off a wonder night of entertainment, we had a late, late night cap in the Green Room. We stayed in a room with a balcony with had scenic views of the Killarney National Park 🦌. Breakfast next morning was in the Fiadh restaurant, where we had a delicious fresh Irish breakfast.
Dear Audi A, Thank you for your wonderful review. It sounds like you had the perfect Gleneagle experience—fantastic entertainment, live traditional music, and a relaxing nightcap to finish it all off. We are delighted you enjoyed the scenic balcony views of Killarney National Park and your delicious breakfast in Fiadh Restaurant. We hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable stay very soon. Yours sincerely, Gleneagle Guest Services Team

Absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. Two friends and I arrived on a Thursday evening to check in we were greeted by a very friendly and professional lady on reception who was extremely informative of all the amazing amenities around this hotel. We stayed in room 355 which was the superior golf side room. In the room they provide robes, slippers, a Nespresso machine chocolates biscuits, water which is all included. They also have a stocked mini fridge at an extra cost. In the room the beds were the comfiest I have ever slept in and the air con could be controlled by the tablet they provided which was a big perk as sometimes I always find hotel rooms to be stuffy. There was also a very large balcony with chairs and a table overlooking a fabulous golf course. The staff were AMAZING, they couldn’t have been more attentive, we couldn’t get a taxi into town as it was too busy and they dropped us in their own mini bus free of charge and they were all so lovely. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever seen, incredible service and incredible views, nothing was too big of an ask, you could order off the menu or browse the self service. They had a full gluten free station which I thought was amazing. Now for the best part of all.. the espa. We did not book any treatments but my god it was the nicest leisure center I have ever been in. The outdoor pool was phenomenal. Inside there was a large indoor pool a jacuzzi, a salt water pool, a sauna and a steamroom. The beds were extremely comfortable to lounge on and the changing rooms are an experience in themselves with incredible showers and loads of fresh towels on demand. I will 1000% be visiting this hotel again. If I could give this hotel 7 stars I would.

My wife and I spent 3 nights here in a 2nd floor executive room. The room was large and extremely well appointed. It basically was a very large junior suite. The mini-bar was stocked with free non-alcoholic drinks and snacks, The room had a gas fireplace, two televisions and a balcony. The balcony was large but the view wasn’t very good - plastic hedge and hotel equipment. Best to get a balcony on higher floors. The bathroom was huge with two sinks, shower, bathtub and a tv. The shower had five heads and was tremendous. The hotel is very centrally located - you can walk to a wide variety of restaurants and bars. Parking is free and valet parking is available. The common areas are very nice. Ambience was similar to a country club or a resort, partly because there were a lot of golfers there during our stay. An a la cart breakfast was included in our room rate. The full breakfast is available @ 7:00 while an early continental breakfast is available @ 6:30 am. Service and food were both very good. We had dinner at their Garden Bar and Terrace restaurant. It was very good. The hotel is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. I wasn’t aware of that when I booked. It’s possible that you can a get a deal through their website. Highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights as part of our tour of Ireland, it was the priciest hotel we were staying in so I had high hopes. Sadly we were disappointed. I booked a suite which was quite tired. The patio doors on our balcony wouldn’t close properly, I pointed this out within an hour of arrival and was assured that the facility staff would see to it. It was still not repaired by the time we left. As a result there was the noise of traffic passing by late into the night which impacted on our sleep. There was a dressing table with no lighting, so impossible to do hair and make up properly as was too dark. Some of the serving staff in the restaurant could do with some customer care training as they weren’t even able to crack a smile. I ordered eggs Benedict one morning, and they arrived on a barely toasted muffin, and the eggs were poached solid and were inedible. Out of the 5 hotels we stayed in during our trip, we both agree that the Brehon provided least value for money.
Dear Deb769, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. I'm pleased to hear that you found your Superior Deluxe Room spacious and enjoyed the views. However, I am truly sorry to learn that certain aspects of your visit did not meet your expectations. We pride ourselves on offering an exceptional experience, so it's disappointing to hear about the unresolved issues with your room and your concerns about the hotel's overall condition. Your feedback regarding these matters, as well as the breakfast, has been taken seriously and will be shared with our team for immediate review and improvement. We want all of our guests to feel that their stay offers great value, and I’d love the opportunity to personally discuss your experience and understand more about what we can do better. Would you be available for a quick chat at your convenience? Please let me know a suitable time, and I’ll arrange the call. You can contact me on +353 646 307 00 or dutymanager@thebrehon.com. Thank you again for your visit and for providing valuable insights. We truly hope to welcome you back in the future, should your travels bring you to the area again. I should preface this review to say my wife's family is from Killarney so we know the area very well . We have known of the hotel for many years but I personally have had no reason to visit ( my wife used to play in the grounds many years ago ). Anyway , upon check-in , for which we were early we were greeted and shown personally to our room . The room ( Garden Suite ) was simply amazing We had no cause to use the restaurant , however after the family function we had in town we relaxed in the Library with a drink which was quiet and cozy , exactly what we wanted at the time. We then spent some time on the balcony enjoying the peace and quiet which was only disturbed by the noise of the Kerry cattle next door :-) The bed was just about the best hotel beds I have slept in We took breakfast in our room which was hot , exactly what we ordered and delivered on time. If you are looking for a peaceful retreat then this can't be beaten . The location , which we were obviously aware of is a 30-35 min walk from town ( at a good pace ) , or a 12 euro taxi ( we opted for the latter )

Firstly a massive thank you to Maggie for her fantastic communication from the start to the end of our stay. We had a penthouse apartment with spectacular views of the town and the surrounding hills. I can honestly say these apartments are a 5 star accommodation as they had everything you would expect in a 5 star. It was clean and tidy throughout, if I was to score it out of 100 it would be 99.9 the only small thing that let it down was the balcony required some weeding otherwise it was absolutely perfect. The underground free parking made life so much easier. Would we stay again in the future, it’s a no brainier of course we would. Once again a massive thank you to Maggie and the whole team for making our stay so memorable and comfortable.
