- john w7 contributionsMore Reviews of Romance Istanbul Hotel Private BalconyFrom the minute we arrived in the hotel we had a great experience. Staff were so welcoming, offered Turkish tea as we checked in. The room had everything we needed and a decent size with a balcony. Breakfast was very tasty, big choice of hot and cold foods. The staff even sang Happy Birthday to my wife and presented her with a cake! Great swimming pool with gym, saunas, steam rooms and optional massage. Super location, just 10 minute walk to the Bosphorous and 10 minutes to Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque....Road only for trams, so relatively quiet in a very bustling city.... Will visit Istanbul again and will stay at this hotel again.Visited February 2025Traveled as a coupleWritten March 6, 2025
- Lindy987187London, United Kingdom4 contributionsMore Reviews of Avicenna Hotel Sultanahmet Private BalconyThe room was clean, cosy and warm which was very important as snowstorms hit Istanbul while we were there ! My friend and I had a twin room with extra sofa, balcony with two chairs and views of the Marmara sea and other parts of Istanbul. We were able to walk back easily from attractions such as the Hagia Sofia and the Topkapi Palace and dry ourselves and rest at the hotel before venturing out again. Be aware that you do have to go uphill to the attractions and the cobbled roads and narrow or non-existent pavements can be a little difficult to navigate. As a vegetarian (lacto-ovo) I enjoyed the breakfasts . We has a good choice of cheeses and hard boiled eggs , salads , fruit, yoghurt , cereals and bread. There were diffferent hot savoury pastries, vegetables and even soups every day. There was cold meat as well and sweet pastries. There were juices and tea and coffee. Sachets of teas and coffee were also in the room with a kettle. Staff were very helpful . We booked through British Airways and felt we had good value for money.Visited February 2025Traveled with friendsWritten February 21, 2025
- goat&goosePetaling Jaya, Malaysia3 contributionsWe were greeted warmly upon arrival, and were given information about restaurants and places to visit around the city. We were also provided with a detailed map to help us. We arrived at the hotel early in the morning, way before check-in time, but the hotel was kind and generous to let us into our room and have breakfast, too. Our deluxe room on the third floor came with a balcony. The room, as well as the en suite bathroom and amenities were tastefully decorated, cozy, and clean. The staff at the hotel were helpful, kind, and friendly. We were always greeted with a smile. The breakfast was good. The location of the hotel is great. It is within walking distance to the Blue Mosque, and other historical sites of Sultanahmet. What a lovely hotel and its staff. We will definitely stay there again when we visit Istanbul. - Oana P3 contributionsExcellent luxurious experience! Traveled for business and had my family as well travelling with me. At arrival in the airport we had transportation arranged and everything went smooth. Welcomed at the door by all porters and valet, everyone was smiling and using our names, was very nice, felts like we are visiting friends. We had our first encounter with our butler Zeynep, which was very friendly and accommodating, they even placed special amenities for us every day, we loved all small touches: from the small bee made from chocolate to the coziness of the room, the balcony spacious enough and many more luxurious elements. Breakfast is a must, they do it traditional Turkish way, very tasty and fresh. Attended an event at the property and it was wonderfully executed, the team there jumping to help at any occasion, delicious food and superb surprises along the way. It was a true luxurious experience and it was a pleasure to stay at this beautiful property! Thank you to everyone who made our stay memorable! Thank you St Regis Istanbul!More Reviews of The St. Regis Istanbul Private BalconyDear Oana, Thank you for your wonderful review! - manik100Houston, Texas10 contributionsMore Reviews of The And Hotel Private BalconyStayed here for 2 nights and had a blast. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was small but clean and comfortable. Anyone over 6ft would have a hard time fitting in the shower, but I am no where close to 6ft so was just fine for me. Had a balcony facing the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque was visible in the distance. If the weather is good, you can just enjoy a cup of tea or coffee along with the view sitting on the balcony. Sunrise over Hagia Sophia was breathtaking. Location is everything. Hotel is in the Sultan Ahmet area, with history all around it. Right across from Hagia Sophia, with a 5 /6 minute walk to the Blue Mosque, and about 10 minutes to the Topkapi Palace; also 10 minutes from the Grand Bazaar. You can catch the tram outside and take it all the way to anywhere. The rooftop restaurant was pretty good, but VERY expensive. You can enjoy all the view from here, but I would not recommend eating here because there are many good eateries for a much cheaper price right outside the hotel. Pros: 1) Very friendly staff. 2) Great location. 3) Great views. 4) Main attractions right outside the hotel. Cons: 1) Small rooms. 2) Breakfast not included in the price. 3) Hotel restaurant very expensive. Overall: Wonderful little hotel, with all the main attractions at your fingertips.Visited January 2025Traveled with friendsWritten February 2, 2025
- Andy IBangkok, Thailand2 contributionsA particularly good Crowne Plaza A modern property in the Crown Plaza mould but with a good location, immediately next door to Istanbul aquarium (being the main draw) and the adjacent high-end mall. Benefits from a particularly good restaurant overlooking the marina – asparagus & truffle linguine recommended - and from large, stylishly furnished rooms with large terrace/balcony – my junior suite came with a direct view over the Sea of Marmara. Obviously well managed, with a professional and motivated staff. Sinan, head waiter in the Altox restaurant, and Burgin who was serving at breakfast, deserve special mentionMore Reviews of Crowne Plaza Istanbul - Florya, An Ihg Hotel Private BalconyDear 138andyi, Thank you so much for your detailed and positive feedback! - SawyerHicksBaltimore, Maryland108 contributionsMore Reviews of Sultanhan Hotel Private BalconyWe enjoyed our 4-night stay at Hotel Sultanhan while exploring Istanbul. The location is *perfect*, an easy walk to the major tourist sites (Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern), and just around the corner from the Cemberlitas metro stop that provides convenient access to other parts of Sultanahmet and Karaköy. (It rained for our entire visit, so we took the metro multiple times every day—you can either tap a MasterCard or purchase a fare card for a slight discount. It’s less than $1 USD per ride and the trains come every 5 minutes. The system was very easy to navigate with GoogleMaps). The breakfast spread was extensive and the view, even through the rain, was amazing. Staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful. We were initially in room 407, which was only OK. It was not as luxurious as the pictures had led me to believe. It also ran quite hot and had a slight musty smell. We were moved to a 5th floor room with a balcony that was much more comfortable, though still a little warm and the walls were a bit thin. One of the two elevators was also out of service during our visit. Our only other complaint was that the self-use spa was not worth it. For $45, we basically got to use the sauna for an hour. Perhaps it’s worth it to pay extra for the full-service hammam instead. Overall, we were very happy with this hotel for the price ($65 USD/night with breakfast included through Expedia felt like a real bargain). It was a great home base for exploring Istanbul.Visited January 2025Traveled as a coupleWritten January 25, 2025
- Stylianos S28 contributionsThe hotel is situated close to taxim square, also close to a metro station. The design of the room was exceptional with big windows. Breakfast room had a view of Agia Sofia and there was also a balcony.
