    • Tybee Island

As a beachside retreat, Tybee Island brings together old and new – clapboard cottages and Bermuda- precisely that soft blend of natural marshes and Atlantic shoreline, modest history and seaside playground that makes Tybee a celebrated family vacation destination. At the south end of the island, the pier and pavilion stretches into the Atlantic, tempting people watchers and fishermen intent on capturing the ‘fish story’ catch of the day. And the authentically refurbished lighthouse and five-acre grounds and outbuildings remind us of her role in guiding mariners to the Savannah River for nearly 300 years. It is precisely that soft blend of natural marshes and Atlantic shoreline, modest history and seaside playground that makes Tybee a celebrated family vacation destination.

They’re eco-friendly, electric transportation to liven your tour around the island– but be sure to make a reservation. Just 18 miles and 20 minutes away, Savannah offers a virtual silver platter of Southern heritage, arts, entertainment and exceptional dining. Lovely, spacious 2-bedroom/2-bath suite with balcony, very clean. All new furnishings. Full kitchen had all the items needed to prepare simple meals. Master bath had an enormous shower for two. Unfortunately the beds were not very comfortable, too hard, and disrupted our sleep. Staff were all top-notch, very professional and courteous. We were able to check in early. It is gated and seemed safe. Amenities were the highlight: 2 outdoor heated pools/jacuzzis, 1 indoor pool & jacuzzi, cornhole, bocce ball, volleyball, foozball, pickle ball, playground and a full gym and sauna. It was a very cold week (30s) and the pools were all warm and delightful. They had a reasonable bike shop on site, which offered e-bikes, cruisers, trikes, “tag-along bikes”, wagons and even kids bikes with training wheels. They also offered fishing rods to take advantage of the pond stocked with catfish, perch, and bass. We so loved biking on the beach and also through the bike paths in nearby Chaplain Park. We took advantage of many of the included activities, which were a hit with the kids - fire pits with smores, live music, bbq night, arts & crafts, star gazing, storytelling, live owl and hawk demo, yoga. They also had several cocktail and wine happy hours complimentary. The beach required walking about 10 minutes on a boardwalk over the beautiful salt marsh. There are bathrooms, a heated pool, and snack bar right by the beach. The waves seemed pretty calm. Unfortunately the snack bar was closed when we visited and there was no restaurant on site, so be prepared to cook or go out. Recommend visiting the Harbourtown lighthouse and the Coastal Discovery Center for kids.

The Omni Oceanfront resort was one of our best vacation experiences. The staff- ALL of the staff working hard together is part of why I will return. It was well run, housekeeping was especially on par. I was pleased with the location just 2 miles from all our favorites dining, except for dining we found no reason to leave the resort. The suite has an amazing king bed, pillows table for 4, and a clean kitchenette. Enjoyed long walks on the beach right from the property and hours in the pools and hot tubs! Yes hot tubs with a S! A special thank you to Jessica Bush who is the first person we met, she is AFDM and her professionalism set the tone for our week to ensure it was perfect. Thank you we will be back for sure soon!

Very nice place to stay, rooms are much larger than the average hotel room and they all have a full functioning kitchen. This is a nice solution if you are looking to find a place with condo amenities but with hotel convenience. Full continental breakfast is provided which offered coffee, teas, juices, fruit, cereals and a hot breakfast.

Booked this instead of staying in Downtown Savannah, it was nice seeing the city by day and enjoying the properties amenities in the evenings. Our two bedroom unit was absolutely huge. Not only did the guest bedroom (two queens in our set up) have a second bathroom, there was also a walk in closet with a second sink. The master bedroom had a king sized bed and a large bathroom with two sinks. There was a large dining room table, plus a breakfast bar in the kitchen and lots of seating in the living room as well as a balcony. The kitchen had Modern appliances and every thing we needed for cooking. There was also a large washer and dryer and plenty of detergent to use. The pool had a waterslide (it was too cold for us to use the pool but it looks like it's open year round) and we enjoyed playing Foosball, they also had corn hole and ping pong and probably other games we missed. This was a great property, we'd love to return when we have more time and the weather is warmer.
Thank you for leaving a positive review on our resort. We greatly appreciate your feedback, and hope you visit us again in the near future.

The Royal Dunes Resort on Hilton Head offers an excellent 3 bedroom suite with many amenities - 3 large bathrooms, 2 of which had large walk-in showers, 4 TVs, a large kitchen with full size appliances, and a large living/dining room. Any request for extras (tea kettle, scissors, extra blanket) was promptly seen to. Any accommodation for extra time at the pool and hot tub was graciously granted. The staff was solicitous in making sure that we were comfortable during the 2.5 day winter storm. The resort itself was an easy walk to the beach and other close amenities.

Waterside is a favorite resort, we've stayed here several times. You can walk to many restaurants, shops and the ocean. When we bring friends we get a 3 br unit which has 2 master suites so it's very comfortable and private for everyone. Well appointed kitchen is nice because we often cook.

Our unit was a bit dated and the amount of time maintenance was called or needed indicated that "Dated" is the appropriate word. Dryer sounded like cats were fighting in the dryer. Called maintenance to fix or lubricate. After 2nd call to remedy this issue, it was decided that it should be replaced. Great final outcome. Kitchen faucet was loose to point we thought we'd break it off the sink base. Maintenance adjusted it but never put in the correct the required washer to allow faucet to pivot. Was an issue during our 2 week stay. Three (3) bedroom unit was outstanding for the 6 of us as far as square ft. We Would stay here again with hope that units would be improved to the point that our, really..... minor issues, overall would be addressed. We would have loved to have given this place a 5 overall otherwise. Amenities fee's are definitely becoming foolishly overwhelming.

We were very disappointed to learn several weeks before our holiday that the unit we initially booked would be under construction. The Property management company (Beach Properties of Hilton Head - ask for Janet!) was so very helpful in making suggestions and helping us find this substitute rental at 3333 Villamare! In fact, half of our party liked the Villamare unit better than our initial booking, where we had stayed for several years prior. Janet answered all my questions over the course of several phone calls and was even kind enough to arrange for early checkin. While we loved the location of this condo, I felt it could use some freshening up - all 3 kitchen barstools were wobbly and some furniture in the bedrooms (and the wall hangings) looked like a hodgepodge of things that had come from someone’s basement - not so much like the pictures. However, the mattresses were very comfortable, as was the living room furniture, and there were plenty of dishes in the kitchen. And great towels! the condo certainly suited our needs, and was pretty clean overall - certainly better than average. Besides location, the best things about this condo are the sweeping views of the beach, which we LOVED, as well as easy access to the beach. Although it was too cold to swim, the pool areas looked inviting and pristine, and we were impressed with the fitness center. It turned out to be the perfect place for our annual holiday getaway, and by the end of the week my group voted to come back to Villamare next trip. Hats off to the Janet at Beach Properties for helping us work through initial disappointment to a getaway that exceeded expectations!

We stayed here for four nights. The resort is nice and the staff is helpful and friendly. The resort is not too big, but if you are staying in the main building you will have a small walk to the pool and quick services. Our room was in the main building and very spacious and clean. We loved how big the kitchen was for a deluxe studio. I would not want to have a room by the pool, it can get loud around there. There is not a whole lot to do at the resort, which is great if you want to go and relax. There are some restaurants across the way that you can walk to. You can also take a shuttle over to the beach house if you do not want to drive. The beach house is very nice, the pool and beach are great. There is also a quick service over there. I only wish the resort and beach house were together, but understand why. Over all we would go back and stay in the main building again. The room was great.

We enjoyed staying here. The rental unit was really nice with separate rooms and a kitchen. We appreciated having a laundry machine in the unit. The condo was comfortable and quiet. The location is also really good. It's a short half mile walk to Coligny Beach. I jogged to the beach each morning and we walked there as a family. There are restaurants, etc across the road too. I didn't give it five stars because the lazy river and pool were dirty with leaves in them and despite the already early checkout (10AM) the maid was going to enter at 8:30 AM, while we were dressing and packing to depart. Also, I'm not sure why the guests have to take the trash out (at least there is a garbage shoot just outside). Other than those minor issues, it's a great place to stay in Hilton Head.
